My wife confiscated the chicklets! Crud. But I have the ponchos and sombreros hidden in my overnight bag!

I was actually planning on posting about this later this week.

I think the plan was meeting in the Promenade Lounge (Deck 3, Adjacent to Triton's) on day 1 from 2:30 - 3:30. I don't think the lounge is "open" (serving food and drinks) at that time so we should be able to all gather there without any issue.

Part of this is to meet everyone, the other part is to let everyone know if your cabin # changed (if you in the FE group) and to get the wrist bands. The upgrade monkey through us a great upgrade on our last cruise (much better than throwing feces), but it happened at the absolute last minute. I am hoping that we have to update our cabin number, #6000 again would be great.

I've been thinking about putting together a deck plan with the FE rooms highlighted to make finding everyone a little easier. If anyone else is interested let me know. If no one else is interested then I will probably get lazy and forget about it.

I wouldn't count on the upgrade fairy. Despite my offers of bribes and wondering outloud if breaking someone's legs would help, Disney, my TA and my backup TA have all informed me that there are no unsold cabins on the ship. (I want a suite, like really really bad....but not at the suite price). I did not ask specifically for a suite at first while talking to Disney, I mentioned the leg breaking later. Anyway....kinda changed the plans to show up as early as possible....altho if I do manage to get moved up (you will know this if I am carrying a baseball bat at the port), my 4A will then be available......(keep a close eye on the bklawyer guy....he may be carrying a bat, too...).

Anyway can we meet at 3 p.m. -- easier to remember. Promenade Deck, Triton's? Isn't that a restaurant? will they let us use restaurant? Or is it walk-through? Wouldn't it be better to meet in lounge or open area?

We do plan on boarding early and grabbing a corner of the pool deck for the Oakes/Yonetani/McCaffrey/Sprague/Yonetani/Alexander/Rauch party. (when they announce us boarding...what do you think we should pick as the family name???? The Yonetani/former Yonetani/and never Yonetani party? (yonetani as my ex's name). We are distinctive...the way way tall half-Japanese (my genetics) and the way short half-Japanese (her father's genetics) and the medium size half-Japanese, with a whole lot of very cute quarter-Japanese children along for the ride....and one cutey with no Japanese (daughter's step-daughter).

Hi everyone! With your cruise only a few weeks away- I have a favor to ask.... I am not sailing on the Wonder until May and can't seem to get correct information from DCL on the tweens clubs... Some of you may have noticed several threads lately with others anxious for the same information.

DCL stated the Edge would be open on the Wonder December 2010 for 11-13 year olds and now the groupings would be like the Magic. This has NOT happened so far. Some DCL representatives are stating that there was simply a delay and will be open soon; others have stated it will not be open until dry dock after Alaska. Many of us sailing between now and September with tweens are axious to know! Would you mind getting definitive answers/ first hand look as to weather or not Edge is open? And if not, ask a kids club CM when they anticipate it to open? And report back..... This information would really be appreciative!

In addition, would you mind verifying what ages can participate in Out and About? And if Out and About will be discontinued once Edge opens?

Thanks! And I hope all of you have a wonderful trip!!

Karen the Promanade Lounge is a Open lounge past the restaurant, and I'm with you on the time 3pm would be easier to remember.

I do have a question about FE. Sailing Sue and Pammy1, (or anyone that can answer), since you have two staterooms I wasn't sure how the FE worked? Will you have just one FE for the family or one for each cabin? This is our first cruise and completely new at FE's. :confused3

For us it will be one FE and that will be on cabin 6511. :)

FE gifts are done and I am ready to start packing! Going to try really hard not to overpack since all five of us will be driving to CA together. I can't believe how fast the time is going by.

okay.....never mind about Triton's....on my brain

promenade lounge...got it....not promenade deck (altho it may be on that deck or not).

Ryan-I have already started the map. But I have a whole deck to a page (old eyes :hippie:) the only thing I need to add on it is all the people who added to the FE list since bklawyer added. I really need to catch up here. I keep saying there is time, there is time, there is time and now....THERE IS NO TIME! :scared1:
If you want I have created it on a word document but I can transfer it to a pdf file. I should have it done Saturday. It would be Friday but I need to go shop for a dress and I am not a dress type person. I am not much of a shopper, either. You would think being a girl, it would be embedded in my DNA or something. Anyway, let me know if you want to wait for mine or if you want to add to it yourself or what.

With the meetup, I figure we will all be buzzing in and out anyway so if you don't get there until 3 that would be fine. I actually haven't done a meet-up for a cruise before but I just imagine it as everyone hanging out introducing themselves to each other. No?:confused3

bklawyer-I want to put a caption under your pic, "We don't need no stinking badges!" :rotfl2:

smb6-I have a 10 year old but I am sure someone here with kids that age will report back here.
Which reminds me, is anyone planning on doing a full trip report or are we just jumping back here and sharing?

Another thing to add to the list of packing stuff. I am thinking about bringing with me again is I have those sheets to make your own business cards and I am going to design some for the trip with our names and address and e-mail. I find it is easier to keep those on hand in case I decide I want to stay in touch with someone later on :grouphug: or even to exchange photos I had taken. I do this when I coach for the parents and I have another as I do bookkeeping, too. :cutie:

Sounds like a lot of people want to go to Cabo Wabo. Do you want to try and do an official thing? I just worry people about people stressing to get there on time, it is a vacation after all. I think we have decided to skip the submarine unless they contact me with a cancellation earlier in the morning. We are going to be brave and just kind of wing-it. We know what we want to do and will have to be bold to seek out someone to help us accomplish it. But we figured the Cabo Wabo gathering would be our end time for our wanderings. How about we say 1PM?

Kris-you are amazing! I don't know how you get the info but you are just amazing :worship::worship: The movie listing is great. Thank you!

OK, off to work more on FE's (and I should have enough for all our newcomers) and then off to paying work. :surfweb:
Later,
Sue

Hi all
I am trying to keep up LOL not easy our boards are smokin hot !!! Woo hoo we are a GREAT group !!!!
Ok as far as prom lounge from 230 - 330 I think its a GREAT idea - on my last cruise we did 3-330 just so people didnt feel obligated to stay the entire hour but im game for whatever so let me know ! The lounge works GREAT for the meets by the way !
Steve I LOVE all of your ideas and YEA Ryan Map please LOL !!! If I can get one ahead of time that would be good as I will need to blow mine up to 50 million font LOL !
I am WAY DOWN for a brunch on a sea day !!! WAY DOWN so let me know lets hook it up
BK- OMGosh you are a RIOT !!!! The gum thing had me in TEARS !!!!!!

I am planning on making shirts but not certian I will -
I am still looking for a seeing eye human for the cabo wabo meet up so let me know if anyone is interested ....
Its getting closer and closer !!!!!!!

I'd be happy to be your human dog. :dogdance: Woof. I'm not sure what time exactly I'll be back from my excursion. It posts an end time of 12:30.

Hey everyone,

I'm at work and can't read the 2 pages of posts right now, but I saw a glimpse of a posting in my email and wanted to comment. Ryan and I will be in the Prommenade lounge from 2:30 - 3:30. This is not to say that you have to be there that entire time - if you want to show up at 3:00 that's fine. We will only be there for that amount of time in order to give everyone a chance to stop in. At 3:30 we will leave the lounge to go back to our cabin and prepare for the safety drill. :thumbsup2

JESSICA: I totally agree with you. 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Promenade Lounge sounds good! We'll see you guys there!

RYAN/STEVE: The map is a GREAT idea. I am definitely for it!!! And Steve, we are also in on the group breakfast/lunch. Sounds like a lot of fun. A group breakfast would be awesome, but if that's not possible, it's all good. We can't make our Palo reservation until we get on board, so I just hope that a group lunch won't conflict with the Palo ressie.

KRIS: Thanks for posting the movie info! I'm super excited to see Tron AND Tangled! :woohoo:

I really wanted to make shirts, but I just won't have time. :sad2:

Jessica - We should be at the Promenade right about 2:30. We have a lot of scrambling to do once we get onboard with reservations and all but I can't imagine we would be any later. We can't wait to see you again and catch up on old times, you know, like September!

Yanira - It isn't a formal dining reservation for lunch. I would just let the manager know that at, say 12:30 on whichever day, a party of 20 (or however many) would be arriving so they can make sure to leave an area open. It's a lot easier if we do it when they open for lunch but it can still be done later. Regardless, they need to be sure to give the bar tab to the two lawyers. If they are too intimidated to approach the one carrying the bat, they should give it to the one with large sunglasses and feather boa.

Wait? You haven't seen Tangled yet? I loved that movie. We'll probably watch it again onboard. I haven't seen Tron yet and might watch it too.

Sue - I'd love to see the map you make. I started one a while ago. It was just the map from our cruise site and I colored in the cabins for FE people. I only had the original 18 in there but was going to use a different color for the cabins who added late.

Dave - Am I even getting close with your movie pic? How about When Harry Met Sally? Alien? On Golden Pond? The Godfather? Porky's? C'mon man, help me out!

-steve

TOO MANY POSTS!!!!!!!!!

Lets see.....

Anyway can we meet at 3 p.m. -- easier to remember.
I figured that Jessica and I (and who ever else wants to) will there from 2:30 to 3:30 but everyone is free to come and go as they would like. I would imagine that everyone will be boarding at different times and will need to get into their cabin and get the families situated and so forth. Anyhow I'll keep of list of anyone who has a cabin change and make sure that everyone who is involved knows if there are changes.

I wouldn't count on the upgrade fairy. Despite my offers of bribes and wondering outloud if breaking someone's legs would help, Disney, my TA and my backup TA have all informed me that there are no unsold cabins on the ship.
I've been watching the DCL website every couple of days and for the past few weeks there has been nothing available, but...... Yesterday at least 4 veranda cabins opened up which is a little strange at this late in the game. They are still available today. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they started shifting some people into high categories to open up some cheaper last second cabins.

Karen/Ryan - I agree, we should start pinning down some meet ideas. We can have two or three in case people can't make one or more.

The Promenade meet sounds good. Unless anyone has any reasons why that wouldn't work, let's go ahead and call it an official meet. Sound good?

OFFICIAL. 2:30 - 3:30 Promanade Lounge.

It looks like a Cabo Wabo meet is also in the works with quite a few interested people. What time works best for everyone? It probably shouldn't be any later than 2pm to make sure everyone gets back to the ship on time. Our excursion is supposed to end at 11:45 and I thought I saw someone else's ends around 12:30. What does everyone think? 1:00? 1:30? 2:00?

1:00 Sounds good to me. Does that create a problem for anyone?

How about a group breakfast or lunch on a sea day? We could get a rough headcount ahead of time to warn Disney and then meet outside the restaurant 10 minutes prior. We may take up a few tables but can be seated in the same corner. Just a thought.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Lunch would be a good group activity one day, maybe on Tuesday?
A group movie could be fun too. Maybe we can all band together and demand a more satisfying ending for Tron.

Costco also has a four day park hopper for $199, but you get a $50 Disney gift card with it, so it's a really good deal. In addition, you don't have to use all the days within 2 weeks like regular park hoppers.

The Costco tickets are a great deal if anyone is interested. They are good for something like 6 months and there are very few blackout dates.

For those interested, this appears to be the list of movies showing in the theater during our cruise:
Oceans :thumbsup2
Toy Story 3D :woohoo:
Sorcerer's Apprentice :confused3
Step Up (3D I am assuming) :sad2:
You Again :sad2:
Secretariat :thumbsup2
Tangled :yay:
Tron Legacy :yay:

Ryan, I did see the rumor of tours on the 2 day cruise. Other than engine, galley, etc., what could they offering? Maybe they're accepting bookings onboard to better control the numbers?

It's my understanding that there are a few different "special" tours that are usually only for the Platinum Castaway Club members, maybe they will let some of us lowly Silver level people will get a chance.

Jessica,Wasn't I one of the first that suggested tieing you up and dragging to Toy Story? Should you then really count on me to watch your back? :)

Let the physiological torture begin.....

Great! I think PDFs for everyone would be perfect.

I love that idea! I am going to pay attention to my energy and stress levels and make my suggestion be that we should DEFINITELY try and arrange this, but I think someone other than me should do it! lol A few people told me that if I needed help with anything or wanted them to help arranging something to let them know. I don't remember who those people were, but here's your chance! Steve, since this is your thought I don't know if you want to head it up, but you have been helping me a LOT "behind the scenes" so I wanted to make it known that others have offered to help. :) Anyway - not matter who jumps on this (given everyone even wants to do it), let me know when and where and Ryan and I will be there! :thumbsup2

Kris-you are amazing! I don't know how you get the info but you are just amazing :worship::worship: The movie listing is great. Thank you!

Thanks, Sue, but I can't take personal credit. I'm simply passing on what I'm reading elsewhere (mainly on the main boards) or on the meet thread for the two day cruise. I take about 10 minutes every couple of hours to skim the boards as a mental break from grading, writing lectures, etc.

Jessica, I'll plan on being at the lounge at 2:30 as well to keep you guys company as long as I'm not delayed in boarding ;)

Yanira, I'm totally stoked about seeing Tron and Tangled, too. I actually skipped going with my SIL when we were invited to see Tangled with her figuring it would be on the ship. I was really surprised how much fun I had going to a movie in the evenings with my DW and son. It was a nice and relaxing way to end the day.

Ryan, given what Jessica has said, I'm thinking forcing her to watch Toy Story might amount more to psychological, rather than physiological torture. While the marks from the bindings might heal, the scars of the musical will haunt her forever :)

As for the tours on the 2-day, I'm eager to see what they'll be. However, I'm also expected the 2-day cruise to be a mad house with everyone trying to do everything. The 7-day will be a much more relaxing experience, especially when it comes to character interactions.

Everyone, By now, the Wonder has left Florida for the last time is headed on her way here. Can't wait.

Kris

Jessica,Wasn't I one of the first that suggested tieing you up and dragging to Toy Story? Should you then really count on me to watch your back? :)

I'm more than willing to link reservations, but you may not want to with us as we're traveling with my SIL's family on the 2 day cruise. That means 7 at the table already including an 8, 5, and 4 year old. And on the second night, we're treating my SIL and her husband to dinner at Palo, so it drops to 3 kids against two, which is really bad because I think the ideal ratio of adults to kids is 1.5:1 and 1:1 in a pinch; thus this 1:1.3 is extremely problematic. :). Should be interesting saying goodbye to them as we turn around and get back on the ship.

Kris

Yeah, you were, I know. But you see - I don't believe you'll do it! :rotfl2: Come on, from one trekkie to another! :rotfl:

No worries about dinner. Ryan and I checked last night and we are eating at Palo on the 2 night, so we won't be in the dining room anyway. We will see you on the ship though!! Maybe I can even borrow your son to get me into the Oceaneer's Club! ;)

Don't take this the wrong way, but 1/2 the time I don't know what you're saying! :rotfl2::lmao: Huh?!? :confused3
