They MAY join us this cruise too but dont think they would do a FE but might be open to Gabe gifts LOL ... They are still thinking about it - I told her think fast its filling up !
Have a good one everyone

Here is a copy of a FE map we used for an Eastern cruise last year: http://pages.suddenlink.net/airtime247/map.html It's ugly but it worked.

I think the map looks pretty good, it definitely gives all of the information that anyone would need to distribute FEs.

Hopefully if anyone gets upgraded they will be notified a week or two in advance so the map could be updated. On our last cruise we were upgraded, but never notified, so we found out when we checked in.

I just wanted to add to this for everyone. We actually were not told when we checked in that the cabin number changed. We gave our bags over to the cruise people at AKV (they had the tags with our INCORRECT cabin number on them, etc). Our bags were whisked away and we were given a paper after checking in. We went and sat down and I was reading the paper when I noticed the cabin number was not the same! I went back to the counter and it took them a few minutes to figure it out. We were upgraded and never told! If I would not have noticed that, who knows what would have happened! I imagine they would have said something and it would have been caught upon check-in at the pier, but if not we could have shown up to the same room as the people who got our old cabin - that would not have been good!

Does anyone have an idea of how/when we can update each other in case something like this happens? Maybe we should meet for or after the sail away party, or after dinner the first night to quickly and make any room updates to all of our maps. (Or have breakfast the first morning or something). I don't know - just thinking out loud. Does anyone have any ideas? (We will be at the DVC party before the sail away party, so we can't do it then). Then again, I know a lot of us are considering moving to be at the same table for dinner - so I guess it depends on whether or not we really do that. If we do that, then we can all just tell each other of any changes during dinner ;)

It's too bad you don't know Ryan, that would have been funny!

It would be great if your friend and Gabe joined us. The more the merrier!

As far as FE's, well, I'm not very crafty - which is why we bought ours. :rotfl2: I posted a picture of ours, so you've probably already seen it. It's not done yet, but I will post another picture when it's done. The lady who did mine can custom make them to your requested specifications. You can totally do a larger pocket for Denver - and instead of a Mickey head she can probably put a Pluto on as his symbol! That would be adorable! No matter what you do though, I'm sure it will come out wonderful!

Of course we want to know how old Denver is! We want to know everything about him! Does Denver get sea sick like me?? :lmao:

5 acres sounds nice! What area do you live in?

Have a good night everyone pirate: :sail:

Hi all
On our last cruise we had people that were upgraded CALL OUR ROOMS with the new number maybe this is silly but it worked we had SUCH a large group we split it so the people who did get moved only had to call a total of 9 people and i think only 1 person moved - ORRRrrrr we could have the people who move leave a note in our FE with the new room number just thinking outloud let me know everyone :thumbsup2

Are we doing FEs the first night and last night ? on our last cruise we had everyone put them out before sail away then that way whoever moved could leave you a note - what if we did that and if you go to a room with no FE you could double deliver the next day when you locate that persons new room again thinking out loud -

I would be in favor of FEs for 7 nights or 6 whatever everyone wants - any suggestions ? also on my last cruise we set a " Take your FE down by time :" I think it was 8pm the last night of the cruise - ideas there ????

Jessica I live in wine country .....

We have been upgraded twice but both times were at least three weeks before the cruise. Hopefully they give us this much time. Disney never told us though. I always read about other shipmates getting upgraded on the DIS and then I would check and sure enough, we were upgraded as well.

We have had experiences with going to cabins on our FE list and there was no sign of a DISer being there - no FE, no magnets, nothing. So we assumed they were upgraded and didn't leave anything there.

Assuming our group stays small, we can just call the other cabins to let them know. I'm sure we won't be bringing our map around the ship with us unless we are handing our our gifts so another possibility if someone is upgraded, they can bring some post-its to an early meet and write their cabin number down to give out?!? Maybe giving our gifts the first night might not be the best idea because of the possibility of upgrades.

We have never had set nights to give gifts. People just came by whenever they felt like it. It was actually nice that way. Even on our last cruise when we only had maybe 12 participants, we had something in our FE pretty much every day. This made for a nice surprise to come back to. Some FE gifts are given out on certain nights if they have a theme like the sailaway party, pirate night, Golden Mickey's, or port-specific.

We usually leave our FE and door magnets up until the last night.

Jessica - No, I love my MIL dearly but it's just a crazy place that wears you down quickly. I can take on the map if no one else wants to do it. Since I have more time, I can hopefully make it a lot prettier. Keep us posted on the cat situation. Hopefully they get along and aren't too catty with each other!

Kirsten - Sorry to hear we may be losing you but I completely understand. At the time we booked this one, the two January sailings were the cheapest which is why we chose January.

Woo hoo! TGIF!

Hi Amy, it's good to "see" you!

Did you guys book your sailing with cash or points?

Hey all - a couple of things tonight:

1) I have a kitty update. After talking more last night and going through a whole rigmarole, we decided to let my mom keep the cat. It's a long story and I don't think I have the energy right now to explain - but that's what it is. It's a bit sad :sad1:, but in the end we think it will be best for her.

2) Since we do not have Malle to take to get bathed tomorrow, we've decided to go to Disneyland to try and see World of Color! Hopefully we'll get tickets! Cari - we looked at the passes liked you asked and it looks like the Deluxe passes are blocked tomorrow. :( If by chance you decide you are going let me know! :thumbsup2 Yanira & Sergio, if you guys have premium passes and want to go too, let me know! Anyone who wants to meet up can text or call me tomorrow. My cell phone number is 951-219-8434.

3) About the FE's, personally I think that leaving a note in people's FE's letting them know of the cabin change could be good. Phone calls might be confusing - and who knows if the people will ever even be in their cabin to get the phone call! That's just my 2 cents though. Any other thoughts? With regards to how many nights we should leave them up - it doesn't really matter to me. ;) Whatever everyone decides on with be fine me! :rolleyes1

4) Cari - do you live in Temecula wine country or Napa Valley wine country? Either way, it must be so peaceful!

5) Steve - that was clever - "catty" with each other, that's funny! Also, the maps make no difference to me. Honestly, I don't know that our group is going to be big enough for it to matter. It's still a good 7 months out, but it doesn't feel like we're going to get very many more people. Hopefully I'm wrong, but if I'm right then the maps might not be necessary. Two of us are already across the hall from one another! :rotfl2:

Well, I hope everyone had a good Friday and that you all have a great weekend! We will post late tomorrow night or sometime Sunday morning to let everyone know about WOC! :woohoo:

Toodles :3dglasses

Hello fellow cruisers!

My name is Stephanie and I will be sailing with my son, 8yr, my little Sis (37) and her son 8yrs...this will be my 10th cruise and my sisters first. We have done the Fish Extenders exchange and it is so much fun!! we would love to join in:thumbsup2

I am from San Diego and Sis from Pasadena, CA...so will be nice not to have to fly all the way to Florida this time.

I also have the Dream booked for April  looks like I will be making that Florida flight after all...LOL:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

You all sound like a great group and can't wait to meet everyone!

:welcome: DAISY AND CO. to our AWESOME group! :grouphug:

I LOVE all the pet pix guys!!! I have 2 Silky Terriers of my own, so I will be posting a pic of them soon.

Although Sergio and I weren't able to join Jessica and Ryan today at DCA, I am happy to report the following from Jessica, currently waiting for WOC!: "We are sitting front row in the splash zone - we were told we WILL get wet! We've taken pics all day of the process and hope to get pics of the show. We will be here late for the glow party (which we will explain on the post), but when we get home I will upload a page on our website with a review, pics, and explanation of the process! ...probably midnight to 1:30 a.m."

Can't wait to read her post!!! :woohoo:

Have a great weekend guys!!! :hippie:

Welcome aboard Stephanie :cool1:
You want to hear something funny? I'm on the April 17 2010 Dream trip with you too:rotfl: I'm taking my God daughter for her birthday.

Stephanie - Welcome!!! :grouphug: It's great to have a cruise veteran sailing with us. Maybe you can give us some advice about meets, excursion ideas, and FE ideas. It's also nice to have more kids in our group. Be sure to check our site which Jessica (Kidlette) created at http://sites.google.com/site/wonderjan23/home and send her any info or pictures you wish to share for our Characters of Wonder page.

How exciting to already have a Dream cruise booked. Bummer, another reason to go to Florida! :rolleyes1

Jessica - Sorry you couldn't keep the cat. I hope you enjoyed WOC today. Do report! About the map, it was mostly helpful with passing out gifts so people could plan out a route so they wouldn't have to do a lot of backtracking. I'll probably make one anyway since I'll use it and people can use it if they find it helpful.

Cathy - I didn't know you had a Dream cruise booked. I can't wait to sail on the Dream as it looks amazing. I'm pretty sure it will be at least 2-3 years for us.

Amy - I can't believe you posted to the group before you told me about the Kids Sail Free promotion. Stop Netflixing on your lunchbreak and try to post more, would you?!? They don't bite you know (well, most of them anyway).

We debated on using the extra $$$ from Emma's now free ticket to upgrade to a better cabin but in the end decided to take the money and run. We didn't have to do a new booking and got to keep our cabin which was a huge plus as the Cat 11 cabins are sold out.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hi Everyone - it's nearly 3:00 AM and I'm getting tired so this will be quick!

Yanira - thanks, you're the best! I'm bummed you couldn't make it, but we'll get together another time. It's too bad you're not going next Saturday, that could have been fun! :3dglasses

Steve - It's ok about Malle. I tend to react on emotion, so when I lessened my anger and annoyance and thought about the situation from different perspectives I decided that being where she's at now would be better than bringing her here. I am very sad becuase I love her, but I always wanted what was best for her. I'm sure she's happy with my mom. :) Also, world of color was AMAZING, ASTOUNDING, AWESOME, and AWE-STRIKING! I'm sure we'll be talking about it soon!

Stephanie & group: WELCOME! We are so happy to have you joining us! Like Steve said, if you want to send me a private message on disboards or email me with your info I will update everything to include you guys! If you haven't seen the little website we've created, I definitely recommend following Steve's instructions. If you take a look at the characters of wonder page it will tell you all of the info I need from you. You can also email me pictures to share and I will post them for everyone to see on the website!

Cari and Stephanie
: I apologize that our FE list on page 2 of the post has not been updated yet, things got a little hectic this last week. I will update that tomorrow for you!

Everyone: WORLD OF COLOR!! OMG, IT WAS AMAZING! Seriously, it is THE BEST DISNEY SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN! I have started a page on our site for it but it's not done yet. Here's the link anyway, just know that I stopped because it's almost 3:00 AM and I'm getting tired. I will complete the page tomorrow - I promise! For now, here's what I have posted (there's a lot of info here already)! Here's our normal site link, just click the "World of Color" tab in the left-hand side-bar! http://sites.google.com/site/wonderjan23/

Good night (morning) everyone! Until tomorrow....later today.... :upsidedow

Before I forget...

Ryan and I were thinking it could be fun to name our cruise group - what do you guys think? Our 2 night sailing did this and they came up with a little logo and everything. Since it's a 2 night cruise to nowhere, instead of "cruise to nowhere" they did "cruise to neverland" and made it peter pan themed. Get it - neverland is in Peter Pan and it's fitting for the cruise because we "never land"?!?!? So, what do you guys think, should we name our cruise and come up with a little logo? I'm including a picture of the thing someone came up with for the 2 night - just to give us some ideas.

If you have any ideas on what we could do, I'm sure we'd all love to hear!

Kirsten - Sorry to hear we may be losing you but I completely understand. At the time we booked this one, the two January sailings were the cheapest which is why we chose January.

Woo hoo! TGIF!

We chose January for that reason, so when I saw that Feb was cheaper, I changed it.

Folks, you're going to have a great time! I'll miss you :wave2:

We changed our reservations and we got the kids sail free :cool1:

Have a fabulous trip, everyone! :goodvibes

Okalie Dokalie everyone - the World of Color page has been updated! If you've already read it, check it again for color coded photos of the viewing area and updated info on the VIP dining package!
http://sites.google.com/site/wonderjan23/home/world_of_color

Fish Extenders! I have also set live the webpage for the lady I bought our fish extender from. She is super nice and we LOVE our FE! She is also the cheapest on ebay, which makes it so much better (good quality and good price = good value)! She also sells custom made pillow cases so the kids can get character signatures on a customized and personalized pillow case, and has tote bags with mickey heads and name embroidering. The link to her info on our little site is http://sites.google.com/site/wonderjan23/home/bonnysews_fish_extenders

Both of these things can also be found in the left-hand side-bar on our web page!

I am SO thankful that someone posted the kids sail free offer :-) Now my friends Rick and Amber and their Kids Sean and Gemma and guide dog Hamlett can also join us ! WOOP WOOP ! We have them booked in a cat 10b gty and they are still deciding but will most likely be joining us too !!! We will find out by the 18th ! I hope they come I think they will LOVE disney cruise and everyone on the boards ! The kids will be 1 and 2 at the time of sailing and they DO want to do the FE as well ... They have a few special dietary requests for the kids though for the FE basically no candy - they cant have anything with dye in it like red dye or yellow number 5 etc. it makes Sean WILD lol !!! Hamlett has the same restrictions as Denver no rawhide no pig ears or cow hooves - all that to follow if they book :-) which is almost a positive
I cant WAIT to meet everyone ! oh im SO excited ! Im pretty sure I will be making FEs for me and Wendi And Ashley and Aaron ( if they do the FE ) and Rick and Amber so I will be one busy bee ! I love to make them though !
I want to go to WOC so bad but it seems so much of a hassle to get into so im going to wait till it is here for a while ! or go on a day after kids are back in school
Jessica - Im in Temecula wine country :-)
I forgot what else I was going to say was just so excited that everyone is coming in my group aqnd that we have more new cruisers on the board !
