Disney Wonder Hawaii Sept. 2015

So we have 9/17 for Honolulu, 9/13 and 9/20 for Hilo... I disagree with luv2sleep. I don't think it's implying they're undecided on dates. I think it's pointing more towards 2 one-way cruises -- Vancounver to Honolulu and then Honolulu to either Vancouver or Ensenada, with each sailing offering an overnight stop in Maui (allowing for multiple luau options for port adventures).

You are probably right.

If they do one ways I don't think I'll be interested. I loved the 8 sea days. Since it would likely be during the school year I wouldn't take extra days to see Hawaii because I can do that when school is out. A one way with pricey fly to or from Hawaii airfare isn't worth it to me. If it happens to occur firing fall break though I'd consider it.

I feel just the opposite. I loved the fact that the Aulani was far away from Honolulu. In fact, if I ever return to Oahu.... I'll never step foot in Honolulu and especially not Waikiki. Just got back a week ago and you couldn't lay a yard stick down on that beach without hitting someone. That Ko Olina area was a slice of heaven.

We feel the same way and love Aulani. We also enjoy driving to other areas of the island and coming back to such a beautiful relaxing resort.

Can you get from the Honolulu airport to Aulani without going past Waikiki? There's way too much traffic in that area.

That's what we did. I drove all over that island. I was amazed at how pretty it was.

I think that we have Aulani to thank for another chance to book a Hawaii cruise on Mickey's boat! What easier way to sell DVC than on a cruise around the islands? Aloha, Karen:thumbsup2

Shoot, after spending some time there myself, I was ready to buy. Plus, I was almost ready to spend any price. I loved it. Only thing kept from not buying is that I haven't sold my 5th wheel yet.

Count me in as loving Aulani! And one of the big things I love is that it is NOT in that madhouse that is the big city of Honolulu/Waikiki. Some folks will flame me for saying that (or at least they sure will on TA Oahu forums! LOL ), but when I go to Hawaii I do NOT want to go to a major metropolitan/urban area. Aulani is absolutely gorgeous, and as a DVC member, I count it as one of my very fave DVC resorts, in fact, I consider it the best resort Disney has ever built, all resorts included!

Aulani's location is very lovely, and easy to drive to whatever sights you'd like to see Plus there is a nice Costco and Target no more than 10 minutes away to stock up your villa to save some $ on dining out! ::yes::

I will be visiting Aulani for the 3rd time next January. And praying that if indeed DCL does a repeat performance on the Hawaii cruise next year, that somehow I will be on it!!

I am crossing my fingers and toes for a one-way cruise. Dh would never do a round trip one to Hawaii, since he wants to spend more time then that would allow on the islands. But one way would just be a much more fun way to travel to or from Hawaii! Plus a taste of each island they stop at, and the chance to spend some time IN Hawaii before/after...

We are anxiously waiting to hear if Hawaii will be offered. I wish they would release the dates soon. :)

The OBB benefits for that cruise expire 18 months from your booking date (so mid-August 2015). If the Hawaii itinerary follows the September dates we're seeing, it wouldn't qualify. You would need to have one of the "grandfathered" onboard bookings that expire at the end of November 2015 to use to get the OBC.

I booked the very last cruise available in April 2015, so I won't have any issues.
The future cruise desk person knew exactly what I was doing in booking this dummy.
On opening day for the rest of 2015 I will be switching the cruise.

I'm not worried, if there are any date issues with switching the dummy we will just use the OBC for another cruise we will be taking before Hawaii.

It is not? :confused3 Did you read that somewhere or is that word on the street sort of thing?

Personally I would like to visit Aulani, it is just on the one island I have no desire to go to for an extended stay. Maui and Kaui are more my speed. I have would love the Mickey vibe for Hawaii but at the same time Hawaii is so amazing I need some time to explore and one day does not cut it. A one way would be a lot of fun as it would give you both. Roundtrip holds no interest for me. 4 days in Hawaii is nowhere near enough!

After all these pages, maybe we should try to recap of our wish list- just in case our DCL friends are listening (reading)...
DCL, please do a roundtrip west coast to Hawaii cruise in 2015, or better yet do a roundtrip to Hawaii cruise and also some one way cruises to and from Hawaii, to make everyone happy! And please cruise by the Na Pali coast, and schedule a cruise-by of active volcanos at night (Is that right?). And please announce the cruises soon. And we'd love an advance booking day for gold and platinum members (OK- silver members say no to that one). And don't black out the cruise from onboard booking discounts and credits!

Hope to see all of you on the cruise someday... and we wait.......!!

It's from not only people I know within Disney but the fact they need to offer so many specials to try to get people to go. I mean have you ever heard of Disney offering free breakfast for a hotel stay? I never had. They are offering passholders something like 35% off bad that includes WDW passholders. Also the fact that DVC really messed up as well. Aulani is just one mess I think Disney would like to forget about, but that is not going to happen. Besides new evidence of a Norwegian Forjds cruise for next June, that will get me right now more than Hawaii, and especially if Hawaii is a one way.

Actually, WDW has offered free dining plans and/or greatly reduced dining plans many times over the years for package bookings, so I am going to respectfully disagree with the point that Disney has never offered free breakfast for a hotel stay.

I don't think Aulani's sales are where DVC would like them to be, but as a 21 year DVC member, it seems that DVC's pricing has slowed sales for other locations as well. The economy is still tough. Until Aulani's DVC portion is sold out, I think we will continue to see occasional great deals. And for folks that are not DVC Members, it's a great time to scoop up a deal, and stay at what I consider to be the best resort Disney has ever built.
