Disney Wonder Hawaii Sept. 2015

To me this says that if you were onboard on X date you have 18 mos from X date to sail and receive the benefit. Is that how you read it too?

I can also see how it might be interpreted as
"Guests making a booking onboard must sail within 18 months after the date the original booking X was made onboard"
With X being the new cruise date.

That's how I read it. Say you're on a cruise in Feb 2014 and book a cruise on Feb 17th for April 2015 (furthest out available). You have to take the cruise by August 17th 2015 (18 months after booking date). However, any cruises that were already booked before the change to the policy have up to 24 months to take the cruise (17 Feb 2016).

The new policy was released mid November 2013.

For grandfathered cruises they gave a hard end date of Nov. 30, 2015. Effectively giving them 24 months plus a few days.

Any cruises after the new policy date have 18 months.
Question is- Which date are they referring to?

I was told the cruise you end up sailing with the onboard benefits has to have a starting sail date of within 18 months from the date you originally made the onboard booking. For example, I visited the future cruise desk on 1/17/14. The cruise I end up booking with it has to begin by 7/17/15 or I won't have any onboard booking benefits associated with the reservation.

That's my understanding as well.

Mine too. Since DCL "grand-fathered" existing dummy bookings to extend them til November of next year, they wouldn't give even more time to the bookings made after the change in policy.

Exactly. We did an OBB this past October. We booked 2 weeks before the new rules were shared. We have until Nov. 30th, 2015 to sail or we will lose our OBB benefits. When they say you have to sail within 18 months of the booking date they mean the actual date you booked the future cruise on, not the date of the future cruise. If we were on a ship right now (I wish) and booked an OBB we would have until Sept. of 2015 to sail or we would lose our OBB benefits. I think the reason they let those of us who booked before the new rules grandfather in and have until Nov. 30th of 2015 is because this was not a stipulation at the time of our booking, although I'm sure in the fine print it said somewhere they were free to change the rules at their discretion.

Any word on the 2nd half of 2015? I'm about tired of waiting and am looking at just doing WDW in the fall of 2015 and using our OBB deposit as a deposit for that.

I don't believe the term "grandfathered" is being correctly used here.

To be grandfathered is to be exempt from new regulations.

Since DCL added restrictions to existing dummy bookings (a new 24-month limit), they are not grandfathered.

Hi! New to this thread. Any word on 2015 Hawaii Disney Cruises yet or when we might hear anything? I am a pro at WDW but new to DCL.:wave2:

Rumour on the other thread says Mar 18 to coincide with the Frozen release, or the week after :(

Wish they would release the dates already. Its time already and its killing me the wait lol :rotfl2:

The "2015 sail dates?" thread (its currently on page 1) has suggested that the release date may be early in the week of 3/24. In past years I think they have made an announcement on a monday then had a day or two for booking by phone for platinum and gold members, then after that booking for everyone else on the website as well as by phone.... But, DCL will do what it wants when it wants and they're not telling us yet! We can only hope it's soon!!!

Does anyone have trouble with that many consecutive sea days? I had a hard time with just 2 in a row. I guess it would just require taking Bonine each night prior to a sea day. I would love this itinerary but need to work on doing a Med in 2015. Would be awesome to be able to do both ... Dreaming!!

Never enough days at sea!
