My DD is 7 (about to turn 8 in July). Let me know if you want to pen pal pre-cruise. My DD is looking for similar aged friends to meet up with in the kid's club. I think you need 10 posts on the DIS to send a PM so you'll need a few more posts, but if you want to PM me about pen pals once you get there, let me know.

She made some friends on our last cruise and it made a huge difference for her. She would often meet up with them in the kid's club and we actually ended up arranging to sit with one of the families at dinner. DD loved having a play mate at the table!

It's funny, this is our third cruise with DCL and our first time participating in FE. (We're not on the list here because we're participating on the FE on another social media platform.) Different people do different things but our plan is to give one nice gift per person for the duration of the cruise. Some people like to give multiple small gifts through the week. We decided one nicer item was the way we wanted to go. Some people like to give a little item to each participant and then one whole-stateroom gift. It's totally up to you!

Everyone does it differently, some people give one family gift to each cabin some do individual gifts for every person.

It was so exciting for the boys to go back to the room and see if there was something in their pouch!

What i do is make a personalized gift for each person. For example, on our last cruise i made mini scrapbooks for the moms, gave mickey beer openers to the dads, journals and jewels to the girls, mini bow and arrows for the boys and mickey crayon roll ups for the littles.

Some people make little first aid kits, soap, necklaces, magnets and all kinds of stuff. Some people just buy some disney stuff that they find.

If you google Fish Extender Gifts you will see a million ideas.

You can do as much or as little as you want with it as long as you deliver something to every stateroom at some point on the trip.
