We left off at the boat dock in a panic because DH is not waiting for us there. But first here are a couple more photo pass pictures of the girls in front of the castle with their faces pained that we took on our way out.
So after running to the other dock to see if DH was there we ran back and low and behold DH was sitting on a bench waiting for us. He must have gotten there right as we went to look at the other one. Here’s the bummer. When the girls and I were there a boat was loading, I guess DH got there as they were leaving and they even called at him to see if he wanted on. If we had just stayed there we could have been on that boat. So, we were all together but the stress was still on because now we had to wait for another boat. And wait we did, about 20+ minutes. It was a lovely ride but I was a little worried about being turned away because we were too late.
When we finally docked at Ft Wilderness it was about 5 after so we walked fast to HDDR. And. . . . . . They were still seating! Actually, I watched the door and it stayed open for about 30 minutes. Wish I’d known that. Would have saved me some stressing. We were entertained at HDDR. The girls really didn’t like the food. The corn bread was great though.
Who can resist the napkin twirl?
And of course the washboards. Boy was that loud.
We enjoyed the show and laughed. I’m glad we went at least once but we will probably not do again any time soon. It’s a basic down home dinner show that you can see anywhere, (nothing unique to Disney). IMO
So, when we left we made our way to the boat dock to go back to MK (for Spectromagic and Wishes). As we were waiting, DD4 stuck her foot through the posts and dropped her flip flop in the water.
There was no way to get it and she started crying.

It was quite the entertainment for all those waiting around us. DH and I weren’t too concerned and told her we’d get her some new shoes at MK. (What kid wouldn’t want new shoes in WDW). . . . . My kid. She wanted her old raggedy flip flop back. Well DD7 saw a long boat brush hanging up so they ran to get it while DD4 and I watched the flip flop slowly start to drift under the bridge. DH stuck the brush in and was able to get the shoe up to the side of the posts. Then a nice dad next to us helped reach through and grab it. The flip-flop was rescued! Well we decided that our daddy was a undercover superhero

for sure because he can rescue flip flops from dangerous Disney water.
On the boat ride to MK the driver announced the times for Spectromagic and Wishes. They were an hour later than the schedule I had printed off line. We were confused when we walked in. It was about 7:30 and they already had the road roped off for Spec. and people were sitting around waiting even though the Times Guide said Spec. didn’t start until 9 p.m. So, we went to ask a CM. She was confused by Times Guide and said the parade would start at 8. We decided to go up to the Train Station and see if there was room up there. There was lots of room and a beautiful view. I was so excited. We originally sat by a table behind an older lady who clearly did not like children. You know the kind. The kind that turns w/ an evil stare every time your kids move or open their mouth. Her irritation irritated me so much that we decided to lift our table and move it away from her. Not to mention, front and center! We took these pictures while waiting. It really is a pretty view at night.
Well, we waited for the 30 minutes in expectation of seeing Spectromagic coming any moment and , nothing happened. Everyone around us seemed confused too. So, at about 10 after DH went to find another CM who told him the Times Guide is correct and it doesn’t start until 9. Oh, Bummer. Well, we decided our great seats were not worth waiting another hour and decided to leave. It must have been the first night of a time change because even the CM were confused. So, even though we wasted our time waiting we still had a good time.
We decided to get on the train and make our way to Splash Mountain!
Splash Mountain was pretty much a walk on at that time. It was the first time DD4 would ride. She was excited. DD7 was of course scared. This is a ride she’s proud to have done but never wants to do. It was really pretty riding in the dark.
Here we are in the log.
We were disappointed because our picture never came up afterwards. They were having issues. But stay tuned because we have an awesome picture on Splash Mountain during
MNSSHP.
We then decided to find a place to watch Spec. in Fronteirland. We went to the space we knew they’d be closing as the parade got closer. It was about another 30 minute wait with a lot of people trying to crowd into our spot but we ended up with great front row seats!
We then made our way to Main Street to get a spot for Wishes. It was supposed to be one of the best viewing spots but I probably will never pick right on Main Street again. We had to pick up both the girls so they could see over all the people and it was crowded. We found a much better viewing spot at MNSSHP later in the trip.
So, after a fun filled day at the MK we headed out with the herds to go back to POP.
