For those of you who have traveled with an infant, can you tell me what you do at restaurants. Our youngest will be 14 weeks old when we go to the world. We're also traveling with our 6 & 4 year old boys.

I'm thinking he'll be too young to sit in a highchair and most restaurants won't let you bring in a stroller. So now what?

Do I bring in his car seat so he has a place to sit? If so, then would you just have him in the car seat all day in the stroller? Normally at home, I would have the snap and go stroller with me, but I wasn't sure if keeping a baby in that all day was okay for him.

Any suggestions would be great!

THANKS!

Kristina

My baby will be older (10 months) when we go, but I would suggest wearing your baby in a sling into the restaurants. That way you don't have to mess with his car seat but will still have your hands free for eating. Plus, my baby LOVED to ride in the sling at that age... still does. HTH

My DS 11's first trip to WDW was when he was 3 months old. I did as the PP suggested and wore him in a sling and front carrier and that worked out great. Have a wonderful trip!

We took our DD when she was 4 months old and had a great time. I would have loved to use a sling, however, the chest area wouldn't allow room for DD to fit :lmao: For the few ADR's we did have planned, we held her during our character breakfast as we were with 8 other adults and were able to play "pass the baby" which worked out fine and she fell asleep in the stroller during the other one. If this happens, Disney will allow you to bring the stroller in the restaurant so we just got lucky. Otherwise, they do offer baby highchair/slings that you can use -- just ask for one when you check in. Have lots of fun!!! :goodvibes

Some restaurants have infant highchairs, but I don't know if all of them do. We brought our DS's car seat and also a front carrier.

Went in November with a 9 week old, and brought his car seat for that very reason (ie: somewhere safe and clean to place baby during meal times). *I* couldn't have him in a carrier while I was eating as I couldn't get close enough to the table to cut things and worried constantly about spilling hot beverages on him, so having the car seat was ideal for *us*. However, the little did spend much of the day in my Moby wrap, really only in the car seat for meals and times when he happened to fall asleep while not in the wrap, as it's not good for their spines to be confined to a car seat all day long.

My DD will be about 12 weeks old for our next trip. I plan on using a Sleepy Wrap (similar to Moby) and a double stroller that reclines almost completely. For meals, of course, we'll use the wrap... I wore my older DD for her first two years, so hopefully I still remember how to wear a baby and eat. :lmao:

This was my concern as well when we took DS at 4 months last year. That's why I brought his infant seat - in case he fell asleep I could just bring it in with us. Most of the time he was in the Baby Bjorn or the stroller without the seat. I think I only brought to seat to one ADR. We were able to bring the stroller into Le Cellier.

If you have the baby in an infant carrier car seat you can turn the high chair upside down and the car seat fits perfectly in it we use to do this all the time.

Our childbirth educator cautioned against having young babies in an infant carseat for more than an hour at a time. She suggested that it could constrict bloodflow since they don't tend to move or stretch while in them,so I would hesitate to have him in the carseat all day, but I think it would be useful for meals if you don't like the idea of a body carrier like a Bjorn, Moby or Ergo. I think you've gotten some great suggestions from moms who've BTDT with babies that small...hope you have a great trip!
