So first to start off this post!!
My wonderful DF got me an early V-Day gift (even though we weren't supposed to be doing gifts!!) Which he said he used a gift card- so he really didn't cheat because he didn't "buy" me anything....this arrived in the mail today!

I was waiting to buy it because I know it will be on permanent play in my car and computer- and I didn't want it to be severely scratched and unplayable before November...

(as I am listening to it now... btw..) So I am going to make a back-up copy and also download this sucker on my itunes!
FAVORS
So I think we are decided on the favors! We were toying with the idea of personalized wine glasses- but I think we are going to go the shot glass route! I found a good website that we can do personalized colored shot-glasses for about .86 cents a piece. I love these because they have colored bottoms, and colored text.
Not sure if they will let me put Mickey on it (copyright stuff?) but I am going to try- if not might settle for hearts or something. I did see one as a sample using the SuperMan logo, so I think I might be ok. DF liked the "Game Over" one naturally...
I found some pretty tutorials of wrapping the individual shot glasses in tulle or ribbon, and putting some sort of candy like colored m&m's in them as well.
Going along with our drinking theme here...

For the groomsman I think we are going to do personalized Beer Steins!
CAKE VS. CUPCAKES ROUND 1
So from the beginning I have been set in doing cupcakes for the reception and just having two smaller tiers for DF and me (one for the cake-topper and cake cutting, and one to keep for our 1 year anniversary)
But going to a few bridal shows and doing online research- these darn cupcake stands are the life of me. NO one we have spoken to has a solution to this dilemma. #1 They don't have a way to display the cupcakes, they just make the cupcakes. #2 They don't have a cupcake stand, but wait! you can buy one to display 150+ cupcakes for $300....and after wards keep it as a souvenir. Really???
So then I began toying with the idea for a cake- but also ran into a brick wall with every vendor I talked to who said they won't be able to put anything Disney related on the cake- no mickeys, no castles, no characters, NOTHING. Because they don't have the rights to the Disney Licensing. So I have a cake topper with Mickey and Minnie- but I wanted the cake to be like... WHOA DISNEY WEDDING CAKE....
So then I started thinking about one of two options:
#1 Look into bigger chains for cakes (ie: Wal-Mart, Food Lion, Publix, etc.) stores that DO have the rights to Disney stuff, and see if they could possibly make something wedding related in regards to a cake, even little touches such as little Mickey Heads? (OR are they only allowed to do certain aspects of pre-approved Disney cakes?)
#2 Go with the cupcakes, and see if they can make normal cupcakes and then add "ears" as a touch?
Similar to this:
If not... I could use my mickey hole punch and make card stock picks with toothpicks and have the bakery stick them in each one? So that way they aren't technically using Disney stuff- I am providing it for them?
But then that still leaves me with the dilemma of making our own cupcake stands- which might not be too difficult- since my vision is have them spread out, which might work out better as well if we have different flavored cupcakes! I was thinking of using hat boxes, or those pretty storage boxes and just finding them in our colors and flipping them over?
Any ideas?!
