So we got a lot done this weekend!
Our first stop was Target- of course stopping by the dollar section, we happened to stumble across this little beauties!
You can't really tell from the picture, but they are the perfect teal match!! And for only a dollar- I now have my frames for my table names!
While we were out shopping, I definitely think I need to check out some stores after Valentine's Day! Saw so many cute things about love and such!
So the BIG winner here in regards to stores was without a doubt the Dollar Tree
I found this adorable little wedding dress drawstring bag for the dollar dance.
And they had the perfect match teal, white, gray, and black ribbon for my centerpieces, and 6 yd. for a dollar is not a bad price!! Plus they had white rose petals 300 ct. for $1. I had just seen a pack of 500 ct. at Wal-Mart for $10!!!! So Dollar Store 109349384 and other stores 0.
Also, apparently I missed the memo that Styrofoam balls are like $5 for ONE?
I was beginning to think I was going to have to change my idea for my centerpieces. But again- the dollar store came through offering 4in and a 2-pack of 3 in Styrofoam balls for a dollar each!! So we were back in business!!
So I picked up some dowels, some more glue sticks, dress pins, ribbon and Styrofoam ball and was able to make THIS!!!
I love it!!!
The ribbon does have some sheen to it, so you can see it a little bit in the second picture. It took me about 3 hours to do this one, but it was my first one, so I am sure it will get easier for the other 15!
Haha, it was fun though! Very relaxing! I did put a few different unique ribbons in there as highlights too to add more detail.
We are going to get some terracotta pots and spray paint them silver, and then put the centerpiece in with some grass or silver tinsel. I will post a pic of the final piece when we get to that point! I am going to have black tablecloths, so I think it will look really sharp!
So I was still on the hunt for a sand ceremony frame and a wooden sign for my cake table- so we decided to make a quick stop at Kohls JUST to look at those things... haha Kohls tends to suck me in with their clearance and makes me want to buy stuff!
So they had a tiny section of 90% off Christmas stuff and my mom happened to stumble upon these!
All they had left was J's!!
Haha we ended up getting 6 of them for .80 cents each as opposed to $7.99 normally! We seriously stood there for 20 minutes trying to figure out where we could put these J's and debating how many to buy!
So I turn the corner and I see this calling my name!
It is so sparkly and beautiful!! And I scored it for $2.50- down from $25.00!! It is perfect for the cake table!!
AND my mom had a 15% off coupon on top of our 90% off Christmas clearance... haha can you tell we know how to find good deals?
So I was doing some more research on the sand ceremony frame- and found a frame by Umbra on Amazon that opens from the top and has 4 slots of glass, and a tutorial online how to make it suitable for a sand ceremony so I had a $20 giftcard and got the frame ordered for $5 as opposed to the sets online for like $60! All I need now is just two containers for the sand, which should be easy to come by and fairy cheap!
I guess these frames are harder to come by since the company isn't making them anymore it seems like, so I figured I would go ahead and order it just in case!
So over the next few weeks I will be working on more mickey head centerpieces, and I will probably start trying to print out my table names and putting them in the frames, and doing a mock-up for my invites! I think I am going to use the idea from the main boards of doing an email RSVP! I plan on making a new gmail account specifically just for the wedding!
I can't believe it is already February!!
