Disney with a Southern Twist- Tomber 11.11.11 UPDATE: BLOGGED & LIFE!! 1/24!

So we got a lot done this weekend!

Our first stop was Target- of course stopping by the dollar section, we happened to stumble across this little beauties!

framez.jpg

You can't really tell from the picture, but they are the perfect teal match!! And for only a dollar- I now have my frames for my table names! :)

While we were out shopping, I definitely think I need to check out some stores after Valentine's Day! Saw so many cute things about love and such!

So the BIG winner here in regards to stores was without a doubt the Dollar Tree:worship:

I found this adorable little wedding dress drawstring bag for the dollar dance.

And they had the perfect match teal, white, gray, and black ribbon for my centerpieces, and 6 yd. for a dollar is not a bad price!! Plus they had white rose petals 300 ct. for $1. I had just seen a pack of 500 ct. at Wal-Mart for $10!!!! So Dollar Store 109349384 and other stores 0. :woohoo:

Also, apparently I missed the memo that Styrofoam balls are like $5 for ONE? :scared1: I was beginning to think I was going to have to change my idea for my centerpieces. But again- the dollar store came through offering 4in and a 2-pack of 3 in Styrofoam balls for a dollar each!! So we were back in business!!

So I picked up some dowels, some more glue sticks, dress pins, ribbon and Styrofoam ball and was able to make THIS!!!

I love it!!! The ribbon does have some sheen to it, so you can see it a little bit in the second picture. It took me about 3 hours to do this one, but it was my first one, so I am sure it will get easier for the other 15! Haha, it was fun though! Very relaxing! I did put a few different unique ribbons in there as highlights too to add more detail.

We are going to get some terracotta pots and spray paint them silver, and then put the centerpiece in with some grass or silver tinsel. I will post a pic of the final piece when we get to that point! I am going to have black tablecloths, so I think it will look really sharp!

So I was still on the hunt for a sand ceremony frame and a wooden sign for my cake table- so we decided to make a quick stop at Kohls JUST to look at those things... haha Kohls tends to suck me in with their clearance and makes me want to buy stuff! :rolleyes1

So they had a tiny section of 90% off Christmas stuff and my mom happened to stumble upon these!

j.jpg

All they had left was J's!! :cloud9: Haha we ended up getting 6 of them for .80 cents each as opposed to $7.99 normally! We seriously stood there for 20 minutes trying to figure out where we could put these J's and debating how many to buy! So I turn the corner and I see this calling my name!

wish.jpg

It is so sparkly and beautiful!! And I scored it for $2.50- down from $25.00!! It is perfect for the cake table!!

AND my mom had a 15% off coupon on top of our 90% off Christmas clearance... haha can you tell we know how to find good deals? :lmao:

So I was doing some more research on the sand ceremony frame- and found a frame by Umbra on Amazon that opens from the top and has 4 slots of glass, and a tutorial online how to make it suitable for a sand ceremony so I had a $20 giftcard and got the frame ordered for $5 as opposed to the sets online for like $60! All I need now is just two containers for the sand, which should be easy to come by and fairy cheap!

I guess these frames are harder to come by since the company isn't making them anymore it seems like, so I figured I would go ahead and order it just in case!

So over the next few weeks I will be working on more mickey head centerpieces, and I will probably start trying to print out my table names and putting them in the frames, and doing a mock-up for my invites! I think I am going to use the idea from the main boards of doing an email RSVP! I plan on making a new gmail account specifically just for the wedding!

I can't believe it is already February!!

Wow! I love your dress!!! :bride: Everything is looking wonderful!

We have been waiting for all the after holiday sales too - you find so much great stuff at a fraction of the price!

Can't wait to see more :thumbsup2

Hi Amber! I got got married July 2009 but sometimes still wander around the weddings/honeymoon board. OMG, I saw your dress on the "wedding dresses" thread and thought it was one of the most beautiful dresses I've seen! So something I would wear!! So I had to check out your PJ. ;)

I love, love, LOVE all the disney touches you are incorporating into your wedding. We also had "disney wedding at home." We had the same mickey head program fans and our theme was "wishes" from the MK fireworks show. We had snowglobes as our centerpieces with each character's "wish" types on a big ribbon, among lots of other things. If you are interested in seeing some pics, there are some in my WDW/DCL July 2009 TR in my sig.

Can't wait to hear more about your day!!

Im Jealous :surfweb:

Me too! But I need to stop spending so much money... I saw some more on ebay but I couldn't bring myself to bid for them. Even if they are getting rid of the "Just Married" pins, they still give you something, right? Happily Ever After?

Oh my gosh, I must admit I am a shameless stalker of your PJs, TRs, and videos Nikki!!! I just read through all of them a few weeks ago! :) How funny! I already had it bookmarked for your TR in September!!:rotfl: I can't wait!! I loved all the crazy antics, and margaritas! You and Tom are so cute together!! My DF's name is Tom too!!

Your wedding was beautiful!! I loved the snow globes as your centerpieces and all your Disney touches!!

Luckily I got a good deal on mine, they ended at 2:45 am and I snagged two of them for 99 cents, and one for 2.00 and combined shipping so it was less than $10- still not fair considering they are FREE in the parks, but I just had to have the "Just Married" ones! :rolleyes1
