Been there done that, I am just still paying for my tirip in June.

We're broke but we're going between Christmas and New Years.
DH and I both picked up little 2nd jobs and I'm daily trimming
the costs with hotel deal searches. No onsites for us this time.
I just found a mini suite at HoJo's Plaza and Suites on Int'l
drive for $49 nightly including bfst, a heated pool and jacuzzi.
The reivews on tripadvisor say it's a great place. We have leftover
actvity on our last passes and we're going to Cape Canaveral
this time. We're driving too! Hope the cost of gas doesn't hit $2.50!!!! I've saved $1500 so far and my credit card has emergency funds available with more cleared before Christmas.
DS, 8yo, still believes in Santa so there will be some Christmas under the tree but DH and I are saving our gift $ and asking for
Disney $$$ as gifts. We need this vacation and neither I nor
DH has work at holiday time-I'm a school bus driver and he's a student and repairs/religns chimneys. We're not counting on a
pay check deposit but we're cutting it close(for us). Normally,
we're more practical than this but .....hey, carpe diem and we've
done nothing but camp in 18 months so we're going.

Based on the OP question, I wouldn't do it. There's no way I could enjoy the trip knowing that when it's time to check out I might not be able to pay the bill.


There's a thread on the budget board about this. The person took the trip, wrote a check when she checked out and everything was fine. (When the check was written she wasn't
100% sure it would clear)

That was the thread I was thinking about when I first saw this posted. I couldn't enjoy my vacaction if I were that strapped for money.
