Hello all!

I will be visiting both Blizzard Beach & Typhoon Lagoon during the first week of June. Can anyone tell me if I should expect large crowds during that time? How long on average is the wait for each ride? I'm not sure when kids finish school for the holidays which I'm sure will make a huge difference.

Many thanks for your help!:goodvibespopcorn::

At BB, the line will get long for Summit Plumet, Slushin Gusher, the chair lift (if it's running) and Downhill Double Dippers. I would try to do these very early in the day or very late if possible. Nothing else really backed up when we were there in June of 2012.

At Typhoon Lagoon, the line "can" get long at Shark Reef, but it usually clears out at various parts of the day. For some reason, the family raft ride backs up as well. DO NOT wait in a long line for this ride. Crushin Gusher can get a line, but the line moves pretty well. And even if there is a line, this ride is worth the wait.

Would you recommend one water park over the other? Our kids are 7 and 9 and have had little experience with water parks. Thanks!

Our favorite is Typhoon Lagoon. We always get there when it opens and ride Crush'n Gusher until the lines become long. Mayday Falls and Keelhaul falls are really fun single person tube rides. Gangplank Falls is the family ride and it is a rip off. Often the line is 45 minutes or more and the ride lasts maybe 45 seconds. The storm slides are body slides and are really fun. And the wave pool is soooo fun, it could keep you occupied for a long time.

Blizzard Beach has a few two person tube rides at Runoff Rapids that are fun and a family ride that is also fun (Teamboat Springs) but overall we don't think BB compares.

Many schools don't get out until mid June. The first week of June is probably the slowest summer week other than the end of August. It will be crowded but tolerable.

Also, TL has sandy areas and palm trees everywhere whereas BB is mostly concrete. So the atmosphere at TL is just much nicer IMO.

They both have their pluses and minuses. My kids were 6 & 11 when we were there. Check out my review for our thought on individual attractions :)

We prefer Blizzard Beach. I like the themeing better and i think they have better slides. We've been at all different times of year and found that if you get there when the park opens you can get on everything you want to get on with little to no wait. You just need to figure out what gets filled fastest and ride that first. We tend to get there when it opens then we are ussualy done riding and eating by 12 noon. We are not much for sunbathing and by that time all the lines are too long and we end up leaving.

We love both water parks but our favorite is TL.

We get there before opening and get our favorite spot by the surf pool. A spot in the shade is important to us, so we get there early to get a good spot.

TL has an amazing surf pool, not a wave pool. The waves are enormous and can bounce you around quite a bit. Our kids are excellent swimmers and love to be tossed around, so we can spend hours at the surf pool.

The rides are fun and try and hit the big ones first, but it's the surf pool that really draws us.

Both parks are great. We like Typhoon Lagoon a little bit better.

Two of our kids are that age and they really like the dedicated kid zone at Blizzard Beach. Also the wave pool is much more tame at BB than TL.

We are here now. Already done BB and TL. Going back to BB tomorrow for a few hours in the morning. My kids (9 and 11) have always preferred BB to TL, but we all love Crush-n-Gusher and I love Shark Reef so we always spend a few hours at TL.

Crowds will be just starting to get big at that time but very tolerable. As always you should get there at rope drop and there will be mnimal wait for most attractions. From about Noon to 3 PM lines will be long for the big slides (possibly 30+ minutes) but at that point you can shift to the lazy river and/or wave pool.

Have fun!

Rosebud...how have the crowds been at the two water parks?

Last year we were there the first week in June and went to Blizzard Beach. We got there at park opening and walked on just about every "ride" we wanted until around 1 p.m. After that the lines weren't bad at all. My kids LOVED Blizzard Beach (boys ages 11 & 7) but I've never been to Typhoon Lagoon so I can't compare.

Honestly, if you have a car, skip Disney's waterparks and go to Sea World's Aquatica. 10X better.

We were there the end of May into the first part of June last year. We went to Blizzard Beach for the first time. We were there when the park opened. We had little to no wait for most of the morning. By the afternoon the place was packed and we were exhausted! There is a LOT of stair climbing involved. My tired old tail was done by 2:00. We did have a great time - and our kids (10 & 11) loved it. We haven't made it to Typhoon Lagoon yet...we may try it this trip. (if I can muster up the strength ;))

TL has fewer "good" rides, but the best ones there are REALLY good. And as a plus, fewer stairs :thumbsup2

We're planning to do that and Wet N Wild next year :thumbsup2

There are many times of the year where sea world offers buy admission for a day and get admission for your stay. This works out great for us as when we stay at our time share unit it is pretty close to Aquatica.
