ok i was on a different site and reaading about Shades of Green where we will be staying and i read about the disney resorts having little mickey bathroom asseories dose the ship have these and can any one tell me more about Shades of Green other than its not a disney hotel anyy more and the rooms are larger than most other rooms.

We've stayed there a couple times. I'll try to answer any questions you have. What do you want to know?
I can't remember if they have the Mickey stuff in the bathroom, though! I do know that they have a Mickey shaped pool - the only one at a Disney resort (although there is one on the Magic).
We've always really liked staying there. It's a nice hotel and you can't beat the prices! Transportation is easy, too. We parked our car in the lot at the hotel and never used it again until we left.
Let me know what else you want to know.

My kids were impressed by the alligators in the pond you pass while walking to the Poly to catch the monorail!!

I love SOG!!!!!
When we stayed there last time, our room (#319) was facing toward the magic kingdom and we could watch the fireworks every night from our room and not have to fight the crowd!
They have a really neat little sports bar with good food, and the main restaurant was good too, they had buffets every night.
Shades also has a small px with really good prices. We too loved the transportation and never having to get in your car after you checked in.

Girl Scout Girl,

When are you staying at SOG? They are due to close for about 18 months in April. They will be adding on new rooms and doing some renovations. They will be contacting everyone with the information, so don't call in a panic! From what I've heard, they will be moving people to the Contemporary.

This is from my source: Guests currently holding reservations will be placed into the Contemporary Resort, North Wing, at the same rate you would pay at SoG.

They are also moving the ticket office. Sounds like it's going to be a massive undertaking! If you have an questions, LMK!

If my memory serves me correctly, girl scout girl isn't travelling until 2004. Maybe SOG will be complete by then.

I hope so. They are projecting that it will be complete by Aug. of 2003. If she's staying in 2004, she can't have ressies at SOG yet, because you can only book 53 weeks out. I guess her plans won't be affected if that's the case.
