Disney Visa WDW Rates: Vacation Dilema!!!

Hi,

I need advice please!!!! What would you do? The Disney Visa rates for WDW resorts is very good & tempting. For 3 nights after my HH trip, Mom & I could go to AKL & have a savanna veiw room for $210 a night (normal rate is $315 a night for regular season.) With PH it would be $1100!!!!! We have never stayed @ a delexe resort before!!!

The problem is Mom says we wouldn't have the $$ to do HH (renting points) & AKL + Our trip in December 2004!!!! So don't know what to do. :confused If we do AKL, one of the other trips has to go. Advice?? Thanks,

We spent 3 nights at AKL in January. We had never stayed at a Deluxe before either (with the exception of the Poly when I was 15, but that was too long ago)

I would sacrifice one of the other trips- it is definitely worth it!

We loved both HH and AKL. But if you can't afford it, maybe you could cut back and just do 1 night at AKL and then move. That is what we did. We went to AKL the day we arrived, we didn't go to the parks at all, just spent our time enjoying the resort. In that one day we ate lunch at Mara, swam in the pool, went out to view the animals, went to dinner at Jiko, attended the campfire storytellers program, and then went to the night time vision goggle program.

So our 1 night at AKL was VERY memorable! If you can fit in one night, do it, just make sure you get to be at the resort. Our only regret is not getting to have breakfast at Boma, but I had a PS for Cindy's Castle that morning. We are hoping to go to Boma for breakfast on our next trip.

Hi Allison,

since you have been to HH and you live so close i would give up HH and go for AKL, especially the savanna view. we stayed there two years ago, gosh it felt like yesterday. i can still see the animals roaming. we didnt get to much sleep, we really enjoyed leaving our sliding door open all night watching and listening to them. we had three buffalos under our balcony sleeping and they would wake up and hit each others horns together, we even had our morning coffee on the balcony watching the zebras, elks and the giraffes eating and following each other, it was a great view, i would stay there again. the food was ok to good, a little spicy for the kids, dh and i enjoyed the buffet at Boma. the funny thing was we got a great rate, under $200 with tax and we were only suppose to have stayed3 nights, we ended up staying the whole week. go for it you can always do HH another time for a few days since you live close.

Thanks for all the replies!!! Still don't know what we will do!! Haven't heard back from the disney travel co yet, for a handicapped room. We do know that AAA has a very good rate for a 4 day PH. $199 per person. Keep you posted!!

I too was going to suggest 1 night before or after your December trip. We did that a couple years ago and loved it! BTW, we had a handicapped room too.

Hey Allison, just a thought - would it work out better for you if bought annual passes since you will be going back in december (instead of buying PH twice)? That might save you a little $$. The member who made the reservation would have to cancel. Did you discuss cancellation terms with her when you rented? Some members who rent points consider it a final transaction.

She said I could cancel within 30 days if need. I only gave her a deposit! I haven't heard anything from her yet!!
