For those of you who have Disney Visa's how much $$ in reward dollars have you accumulated by using your card? I was just thinking that if I use my card for EVERYTHING (groceries, house payments, car payments, utilities etc) that I could possibly have almost and extra $500 saved before we go on our trip! Can you use your Disney Visa for things like house payments, car payments and utilities? I write my checks monthly for these things anyways, I may as well just use my card, save lots of stamps and just pay the credit card off every two weeks or so, so that no finance charges get applied.

Last year i accumulated over 350 reward dollars. We used that as spending money.
We charge everything and its definately a great reward to charge, but not if you don't pay off the credit card bills.

We use ours for gasoline, groceries, and Wal-mart trips. In about 8 months, we have earned $237 reward dollars. We'll probably apply it to our room charges when we check in. As long as you pay the balance off each month, it's like free money.

We had almost $300 for our last trip....it paid for all our meals (not on the dining plan, and all CS).....

I've now started to charge gas, groceries, & store purchases to rack the points back up for our next trip.

The rewards card is easy to use, and is like free money as long as you pay your balance off each month.

We use our card for everything that we can and it does add up. We can't use it on the house payment because they don't take credit cards. I would imagine that most banks want accept a credit card for a mortgage or car payment. You wouldn't want to use the checks because that would be considered a cash advance.

I have a few of my monthly bills autopayed by my Disney Visa. Cable, gym membership, alarm system, cell phones, and daughter's gymnastics. I don't have utilities set up. I wonder if that's possible?

You do realize that you would have to spend 50 thousand dollars to get 500 dollars in rewards?

For several years we have used the Disney Visa for EVERYTHING, and we accumulated over $1200 over a few years. Even though it seems unrealistic to charge enough to accumulate anything at 1%, but if all your bills and living expenses go on the card, it really does add up. We were doing some home remodeling at the time and those trips to Home Depot farmed us lots of Disney Dollars. Makes it a little less painful to spend the money if you picture your Disney Dollars adding up!
Keep in mind that it only makes sense if you pay the balance each month and never pay finance charges. Those charges pretty much negate the benefit!

The interest rate on this card is pretty high and the return is only 1% so I too recommend that you avoid carrying a balance.

That's pretty much what I've been doing for a couple of months. In my brief time, I've gotten about 60 dollars.

Good luck.

DD's for 4 years! And the down payment on a couple of cars! Now I ALWAYS pay in full every month or this makes no sense. But you really can rack up a lot. We had over $600 in 2006 because of the above. In 1 year, with no extraordinary charges, I can usually get $200 worth. My new favorite is to run all medical expenses thru the card. Just before the final payment for the trip is due, I'll submit them to my Flexible Spending Account for reimbursement - BINGO - like free money!!! Ok, maybe it's not really free but it feels that way to me!!!!:cool1: :cool1:

I use it for everything possible and just transfer the balance from my checking account once or twice a month. This builds points and there is really no need for lots of stamps.

We ran most of our wedding expenses through the card. We leave for WDW in 3 days and have almost $700.00 to spend. Of course, we accumulated that over 2 years, and we were fortunate that several times over that period we were offered double or triple points. We don't run our monthly bills through it because we also get points from our bank for debits and checks. We don't carry a balance usually otherwise, the amount you save will be paid in interest. The interest rate isn't the highest I've seen on a card, but it isn't low either.

Believe it or not, if you use the card for everything including bills, groceries, etc.; it really adds up quick. I've had it for 5 months and have about 100 points for my upcoming trip. I admit, 500 points would take me about 2 years to accumulate, but since I sometimes have 2 years between my Disney trips, it's definitely possible.

that's not necessarily true... if you use it for disney, and during the Christmas season etc, they had like 5x's the rewards on gas, and different things. I see what you're saying, but I've had almost $500 in rewards at one time and definitely didn't put 50k on that card ;)

We average about $50 to 70 a month. We charge everything, our cell phone, car insurance, car payments, mortgage, utilities, food, gas, everything! Call your mortgage company and car payment place because some banks have a service charge to use the credit card and that would not be worth it.

We use our card for everything we can and pay off the balance. My DH is a OTR truck driver and ownes his own truck. So all those fuel charges and maintances expense have helped us out. We will be going in about 2 1/2 yrs from now and so far we have 1057 pts.

We use our card for everything that we buy/pay bills on and pay the balance off every month. My husband also uses it for work items that are reimbursed. He has had to purchase alot of expensive computer equipment in the past few years for work. We have turned in the rewards a few times but this time around we have accumulated about $800 reward dollars and are using it on our trip to WDW in May.

I have another Disney Visa question. I know you can get a discount at the World Of Disney store on select merchandise, but how do you know what you get the discount on? Is there a list somewhere that tells you? Also, do they take the discount off right away, or do you have to wait until the bill comes to see the discount? Sorry for so many questions, but we just got the Disney Visa and I can't seem to find much info on it.

Here's the latest offer:

10% merchandise discount on select transactions of $50 or more

* Discount is available at the World of Disney® store in the Downtown Disney® Marketplace at Walt DisneyWorld® Resort when you present your valid Disney Rewards Visa Card and mention this offer.
* A $50 minimum pre-tax single transaction purchase is required to receive discount.

Discount is not valid on purchases of ticket media, gift certificates, Disney Gift Cards, videos, DVDs, Disney Dollars, sundries, periodicals, film, Lladro, Armani, Hummel, Swarovski Crystal, Walt Disney Classics Collection, other collectibles and select merchandise.

In the past, I've always gotten the discount when I shop at the World of Disney Store. I hope this helps.
