Disney visa & Premier Visa rewards questions

We have both. That said, I plan to cancel the Premier card before the end of the year to avoid the yearly fee. We go to Disney world in January. If we cancel the premier card, do we lose dollars already put on the Rewards card, or will we be able to use them in January? Also, what does the rewards card for the non Premier card pay you back per $100. DH is leaving for a trip tomorrow and I need to know which card to give him to use.

Non Premier is 1% for all categories. Premier is 1% but with 2% on groceries, gas, restaurants, and Disney locations.

I think you lose the dollars if you flat out cancel the card. If you downgrade to non Premier I think you can keep them.

if you put the rewards on a rewards card the card is good until 12/31 of the next year so you will be fine for January 2015.

I have both cards too; signed up in November for a $200 gift card offer for the Premiere card. Even paying the $49 annual fee, I am still $151 ahead. I plan to cancel the Premiere card and put the rewards on a rewards card and use that to buy a Disney gift card as we won't be going to WDW until 2016 and rewards card will have expired.
