Disney Visa Dollars Question

Hi,

I have had a Disney Visa for quite some time now and have some dollars accrued. I realized that some will expire before our next trip so I'm wondering what to do with the expire-able dollars that would best benefit our next trip? I'm looking for any suggestions. Perhaps purchasing a non-expirable park hopper ticket?

You wouldn't even neeed to buy Non-expiring...as long as you don't use the ticket at all, it will still be good when you go. Or, use it towards the trip itself. You can call and book the trip and start paying now, using your rewards$$$ (assuming that you aren't going so far out that you can't book yet) Another option would be to head to a Disney store, and purchase Disney Dollars with your rewards points to use at a later date. I did hear a rumor that they were discontinuing those, so call and check first, though.

I agree with buying a park ticket- but don't spend the extra money on a non-expire (you would only get that if you are going for 5 days now but plan on going again )

We have a disney card too, not sure if this is correct, but here goes.

After you "load" the points on a reward card, I believe that card and its reward dollars are good for a year.

In theory, you could transfer points that were about to expire (20 for a first time transfer) to a rewards card and extend the life of them by another year. If your next trip is within that year then use them on the trip, if not, your not out anything.

This is true and have done so myself. Also you can go to a local Disney store and transfer/buy a gift card.

I would use them to buy Disney gift cards. You can buy them online (no shipping fees for them) if you do not live near a Disney store. I have done this-the gift cards never expire.

we took all our dollars, put them on a card, and used them to buy disney dollars at the disney store. That way, they would not expire, and we could use them for the store, or our trip, or whatever!

I have some points left over that I loaded on my card from last year. How do I find out when those may expire? I know when our trip was, but I have no idea when I actually moved points from the chase site to the actual disney card.
