Disney Visa Debit Card from Chase

I have one, mostly bc of the design bc there isn't much benefits other than stuff I already get from DVC membership. It was a lot better when debit cards earned points.

I love mine. Perhaps a bit too much. I'm always having to beat the balance back with a stick.

The only thing interest me is the limited time resort discount.
Do they offer these type of offer often?
Thanks!

From what I've noticed they do tend to offer the same room/package discounts to the debit holders as to the credit holders.

Of course, you have to PAY it, rather than *charge* it. :) If you do that anyway, might as well go for the Disney debit card.

There are also other discounts in the parks and I believe on disneystore.com. Not on the ship, though.

I like having mine because it's cute, and because sometimes I remember that 10% off a purchase in the parks is better than the equivalent of the 1% something-back I get by using my credit union CC. It was, however, way more fun when it offered rewards, too. Paid $25 a year, got so much more back...awesome.

Look like I can just upgrade to a Disney Visa Debit since I already have a checking account with Chase. :faint:
Thanks, guys. :goodvibes

I'd be very careful. Today Chase limited its debit cards if they were used at Target any time after Thanksgiving. I read it was limited to $100 cash and $300 in purchases per day - nice 4 days before Christmas, right? I'm not a big fan of debit cards at all because I don't like giving anyone that much access to my accounts, but I often need to get MY money out of my checking account through an ATM, and a $100 limit wouldn't work for me. I have been on vacation and had my Chase card frozen, but then I had my own bank debit card (and other Visa cards) so it wasn't a problem. If Chase Disney debit is your only card, you'd be in trouble!

A Target debit card isn't really connected to your account as you can't use it with other merchants. If your Target Red card was frozen, the rest of your account still works. With Chase? Sounds like it doesn't.

neg, they aren't doing it forever. And for those of us who used our Chase debits during that time they are sending out new cards.

The OP doesn't have the Disney Debit yet, and I *believe* that when /she switches her current debit over to the Disney Debit, it will be a new card number, etc, so I don't think the current, limited-time, Chase/Target issue will be a problem for the OP.

As a sign-up incentive, I received a $200 Disney Gift Card after spending $500. We also use it in the parks for discounts, and plan on paying off the cruise with it for extra perks.

On the DEBIT card or the premium Visa card?

I believe that's for the credit card only.
I'm not looking for any credit card that carries an annual fee but thank you! :)
I received $200 bonus when I first signed up for Chase Freedom. ;)

Thanks, Nancy. :goodvibes
I do have other credit cards.
I hardly use my debit card on purchases. Besides the Target debit card that is. I do love to shop at Target though. ;)

That's good to know. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Watch for when they offer $200 credit for signing up & first purchase with the no annual fee Visa .
That and the $50 OBC for paying for DCL cruise are the only real benefits I have
had with using the card.
1 percent back on Disney Purchases is sad as it is the same as any other purchase.
You would think they would reward Disney purchases slightly better than other purchases.
Also advance booking when some promos are on sale , but no $ advantage .

Oooops! Sorry, my bad; should have read the OP more closely.
Yes, the credit card.
