I just wanted to let everyone know of a problem I had with disney visa in case it happens to you. To make a long story short, my father's card was declined for something he was trying to order over the phone. After numerous calls to bank one, the guy I finally talked to in the security dept. finally looked a little more into and found that they were reissuing our cards with new expiration dates. I asked him how long that took and he said it takes a few weeks. The reason the card was declined was that the company we were ordering from on the phone was entering the expiration date of the card that we had in our hand. I asked bank one why they do this and not notify us and he said they just do it. Well anyway I lost out on about $6 rewards money because my father had to use another credit card. Be aware if you have disney visa card and you are entering online or phone and getting denied it might just be that bank one is issuing a new card (for no apparent reason) and you have a new expiration date.

Don't mean to thread jack but one problem I've had with my Disney Visa is when I sent in large payments they'd put a hold on the account for 10 days. I talked to one rep who said if I called my bank and the check had cleared there I could get the hold taken off but when I tried this they wouldn't do it. The check had been paid by my bank on Wed and the hold was on until the next Monday. We've had to use another card twice because of this hold, you'd think that the fees they'd charge if that check bounced would be enough security for them without having to add a hold for almost a week after a check clears. :sad2:

If you e-pay, there is no delay. I use their internet banking and find that payments that are made before 8 PM are posted that day and have no extra holds put on the bank. The money is posted out of my checking accout within 2 days, depending on the time of day I make the payment

You can also make instant payments over the phone, and if you use the automated (as in no person to talk to) phone service there is no charge.

I don't understand why you have to send in a paper check before you can pay online or over the phone. Is everyone told this? :confused3 :confused3

I always pay my Disney Visa online. I also log onto my account and double check it all the time to make sure nothing is happening that shouldn't be.

My memory is a little fuzzy, but I think this happened to me with another bank credit card. They wanted me to pay one month with a check before I linked that checking account to the credit card for online payment. Maybe they just want to be sure it is really your checking account that you are paying from. With many other accounts, you have to send in a voided check to set up online payments.

Yes when I tried to pay using the On-line payment process I did have to pay one month by check first. I think for the reason you stated.

The expiration date on my card was originally March, 2005, and i just got new ones in the mail. I am really surprised that they didn't wait for you to activate your new cards before they put the new ones into use. That sounds like an error on their part.

Yep, this actually happened with more than 1 credit card I have had, you could only link it to accounts that you have paid via paper checks with before since those were already "verified". If you tried to use a different account, I think you could but there would be a hold on when you could make a payment until the account was verified (if I'm remembering the wording correctly).

Basically it boiled down to if you were using an account you have used before with them, your on-line payment would be credited right away. If not, you basically had a waiting period before you could do an on-line payment.

It's been a while since I set these all up, so I don't remember exactly but it wasn't just the Disney one.

I just made my first payment on my new Disney Visa. I sent in the paper check. It is posted to my account (paid balance in full)... then I tried to pay this month's balance online and it still stated I couldn't pay online. Am I doing something wrong? Or should I wait a few more days? My account isn't due for a couple weeks. Oh, and can you make a partial payment or does it automatically pay your balance online?

I had a problem paying online also, so I called the number on the back of the card and talked to someone about it. It turned out that my bank wasn't in their computer system, and they fixed everything for me. :)

You can pay whatever amount you want online, does not need to be the full amount.
