We have a larger group traveling together. The 12 of us are split into two separate reservations. Can I make payments on either vacation package and still get the 0% apr for 6 months? Or can I only get the 0% apr on the one package I'm the head on?

I've never used the 0% apr before. Do you have to tell them you want it applied or does it just happen automatic?

Also is it 6 months from the day you make the charge?

And can you make several smaller payments on the visa all with 0% apr or is it a one time per package kind of thing?

Thanks for the help everyone

I don't believe it's changed, but I got the 0% apr on 2 packages when we went in 2011. It just happens automatic if you've booked a qualifying offer, they can tell based on who does the charge whether it was a package or not. Room only reservations don't count. It seems to go by billing cycles. I made a charge on 8/4 and the promo apr expired on 2/24 (which was my payment due date for that cycle). Each qualifying charge in a billing period gets it's own 6 months. So if you make a payment on the package in June you have 6 months of 0% from that bill. If you make a payment in the July bill, then you have 6 months 0% for that charge.

As an example, I made deposits for 2 WDW packages and 2 Cruise reservations. It was 4 charges total in one billing stmt in March, all 4 charges had an expiration date for the 0% of 9/24
I made the final payment for each cruise ressie in July, both charges had expiration days of 1/24.
Then when I paid one of the packages in Aug, that charge had an expiration of 2/24.
Hope that helps.

Thanks. Were you the head of the reservation on all 4 packages?

No, my husband was the lead on our package and the other was for my in-laws. The information shared between disney and card isn't that great. There's a category from the charge that triggers the promotion. As long as the charge comes from the right category, doesn't matter what or who the charge is for.

I agree with pp and just wanted to add about making future smaller payments... IIRC the payment must be >$100 to qualify. On WDW packages that's easy but we have made cruise deposits while booking onboard for $80 and found later that it didn't quality. Disney and Chase have the agreement but technically it's Chase who recognizes whether the charge qualifies. If you make a payment of $500 4 months after paying the deposit, that $500 will have its own expiration date for when the 0% ends. Therefore it is mho that you might as well "make payments" to your savings account and hold off making any further charges until the package due date. Making earlier charges only serves to move up the expiration of the 0%.
I hope that makes sense.
