Disney Very Merriest After Hours Party just announced!

They being understaffed is not because they are cutting cost I’m not sure if the article I tried to post loaded but it’s all about the shortages in the service industry and the way guest and the service workers are behaving
Yes. I get that....but at the same time, they are cutting costs. That is their intent. Reasons aside, they are cutting costs intentionally

Do you really think Disney isn't trying to cut costs?

They are, it's not a secret in the slightest
Coming out of a pandemic that cost them big time? Just like most households in the world, yes they are trying to cut costs. But not being able to hire people is rampant across the country. Is a $3000 sign on bonus one of the ways they are trying to cut costs?

Well for one, Disney lost billions of dollars over the past 1.5 years. Second, purely offering higher wages isn’t always the answer.
While I can’t answer specifics to their wages I have gotten several emails from them with job openings and they are offering nice sign on bonuses. However, the bigger part of the problem is entitled, rude guests, expecting the same level of service with fewer staff. The staff that are there are often responsible for multiple jobs to try and cover the losses causing higher levels of stress to an already stressful work environment . Couple that with instances, since the beginning of the pandemic, of people being shot at and often killed trying to enforce the laws that the government set forth. Does it sound like an environment you would want to put yourself into?

Guests should never be rude, but they are not “entitled” if they expect the same level of customer services pre-Covid. It’s not the guests’ problem that wdw is short staffed. If wdw can’t adequately staff the parks to give the guests the experience they pay a premium for, then they should reduce prices and/or reduce capacity.

Hoping news happens soon so this post changes gears back to what we are all here for lol
First boo bash looks pretty empty seems from 9 to 930 they cleared a decent amount of day guests out. Hopefully that keeps being easy
35 minute wait time for Peter Pan, 20 minute wait time for peoplemover seems pretty intense to me for an after hours event. (That’s what the Disney App was showing around 10:15ish). 25 minutes for 7dmt, 10-15 minutes for most other things. Didn’t look like many walk ons. Is this really that much lower capacity then your average MMNSSHP? I’m watching a livestream and it looks similar crowd-wise to me.

As lovely as that sounds there are several reasons they can’t do either. If they lower prices they have to cut cost, they can’t offer the extra pay to the staff that is needed to actually support the place. They have to cut back on guest experience(which is why we all go there) and they have to cut back on any and all construction or improvements they are doing as well as general upkeep. This isn’t some little mom and pop place this costs them millions just for upkeep and improvements that guests expect. If as you say they cut back on capacity they go and tick more people off who find other venues to go to costing them much needed revenue in order to hire great employees train them and get them out there working. And while I guess looking back at my message I did imply that guests felt entitled because they can’t provide the same level of service while that is part of it it is not all of it. It is guest getting angry for “waiting too long” or angry because staff are trying to enforce a mask mandates that they have no control over. Corporations need to be making money after all they have bills to pay too and we as consumers need to be a little more patient while they get back up to par.

You mean stockholders. I don’t expect them to pay CMs less, but I suspect there are ppl that can take a pay cut. Cooperations like to trim costs where it hurts the employee and/or the consumer. So sorry if I don’t sympathy for them. If they can deliver the product they’re selling, then they need to change it to what they’re cabale of handling. The consumer has every right to expect the product they’re paying for.

I checked app at around 945 and things were shorter, could be after first cavalcade people headed to rides. For a sold out event times seem spot on its the lack of fireworks that is a bummer.

A quick search of full time on the disney careers site brings up 4... positions offering full time in Florida.

They can lower prices and still maintain salaries and experience levels. Cutting into the profit isnt illegal.

so then we need dates and pricing in the next day or so otherwise I don't see them just throwing them up for sale without prior info release.
It may just be that they announce dates on Monday and sell the tickets at a later date. Either way keep an eye out for an announcement just in case. It doesn't make sense to hold off on the dates much longer so people know how to plan.

So you agree, they are cutting costs....that's what I have been saying to people that think they aren't. Glad we agree.

They are in some areas, but you should also agree that as a big corporation, you always need to cut from some areas and invest in others. Last year adjusted the areas. Cutting things lije full blown parades as an example.
