Disney Vacay with the Love Bugs (New 6/23 update ~ Chef Mickeys)

First, I want to say, thank you for making me smile & laugh everytime I read your comments on the Dis!

Ah, that is too sweet! I've just always preferred making people and over being a sourpuss. I'm sure there are probably some on here who don't like my brand of humor, or think I go too far at times, but some I've gotten to learn over time, and know what I can and can't say to/about them. It is a pretty good indicator on here that if I pick on you alot, I probably really like you. (of course, some of those may wish I didn't LIKE them so much) If not, I probably just don't know you that well yet and not sure what is fair game.

You'll be happy to hear that Levi wore his Gamecock jersey to school yesterday. I was going to get a pic to post, but didn't. People tell him that his confused because he likes all SC teams, loves going to Furman games. But, we all know the Tigers are #1

Well okay, so he isn't totally a lost cause yet! And I pull for Furman too, except when they are playing The Citadel where DS21 is a senior. Still, that doesn't excuse that Dallas Cowboy adoration, so there is still work to do. And I agree they are #1. I just don't think we would agree on WHAT they are #1 at!!!

I think I must not be observant enough, I look, but have not seen another LGMH yet.

I have seen a few, but not very many. I actually had someone notice mine in the TSM line a couple trips ago, but it wasn't someone whose username I readily recognized. July 4th trip in 2009, Glenn and I were staying at Kidani the same time and got to meet each other's families. That was pretty cool. Love to meet some more of my DISfriends on future trips for sure. That same trip we actually met up with a family I knew from the Tour Guide Mike boards too.

Forgot you live in the upstate & that statement freaked me out for a split second before I remembered.

Sorry I freaked you out, but I actually did think it would at least make you go . Have actually been in there with DW looking for craft stuff for Scout awards and holiday decoration stuff. If we want to get much done, it is either a trip to Greenville or Anderson.

Always one stop on the way & one stop back. And, don't think that you're going to sit & eat inside anywhere either.

No Atlanta here. We go towards Columbia.

Usually have one stop for potty break, and one for gas on the way at least. If I'm lucky they can be combined with getting food so it doesn't roll into three stops. Last trip DW had actually just had some pretty big surgery, so we had to plan more stops into the drive down and back.

Since we are closer to the SC/GA state line than you, Atlanta is our typical route. There actually isn't a whole lot of difference in the two routes distance and time wise for us. The trip we have planned after Christmas we will probably be going through Columbia though. If I work that Tuesday, the halfway point has more options for stopping, and if I decide to take the days off, we may be celebrating Christmas at the coast and leaving from there, so will probably work best either way.

I was probably distracted by knowing that Candi has Dan whipped anyway, so not really surprised he would want to know how better to perform one of his expected tasks.....

Martinique section looks very nice. Did you book preferred? Soarin' is my mom's favourite ride and is the only thing she wants to do for the first 4 hours we're in Disney

I did not book preferred. I requested the bldg that is next to preferred section.
I don't blame your mom. It is better to sit & glide than walking around in the heat!

Glad to hear that you arrived at the CBR and that your request was granted!

Sounds like you guys have started your vacation out right....shopping at DTD, getting your building request and already visiting Epcot!

We did have a great start and we were excited we were able to get to Epcot before it opened!

Funny how you painted lexi's toes while she slept! I love the nail polish. I like your plan to do DTD before you can hit the parks. Great that you got your room you wanted!!

I'm all caught up!!

First I have to agree about the love bug. I have a picture of our door that I'm going to post later in my TR. Our door and entry into our room was covered in the t entire trip. I was glad they didn’t bite but it was frustrating to walk in our room and have 10 of them followed.

Your Mickeys Pumpkin was amazing!!! You are very talented! Also your toenails...so cute! I would love to see what kind of scary mess I would create if I tried to do something like that.

I also was very disappointed with the 5.00 store. I went because I seen tons of people inside looking around. But quickly found out that it was all the same stuff.

All the pictures of your family sleeping are precious. You are very blessed!!

I can't wait to see the picture of your door! I guess I need to be thankful that at least none of them came inside our room!

Yay, you're here! I understand completely about being off the dis. I took a month off when I came back from our trip & I'm STILL behind!

Levi got his America's team adoration from me. That's been my team since the 70's when we were really good. And, we always have the cutest QB's (Troy Aikman, Tony Romo) & that's what really counts!

I left off where we rode our 1st ride of the day ~ Soarin. We were able to get to the park before it opened!
Brad & the kids were practically running to Soarin. I had to tell Brad we were just on our 1st day, please don't make me start running already!
Soarin is so awesome! Smelling the oranges & ending up at Disney w/fireworks!

I also love 'Living with the Land', but did not want to ride it yet. We were coming back to Epcot in a couple of days to eat at Garden Grill. I want to ride LWTL right before we eat at GG so Lexi & Levi can see the garden before we eat.

We look in Mouse Gears because Lexi & Levi want a hat. We cannot agree on one, so we head over to Brad's favorite ride, Test Track!

Everytime we rode on TT this trip, they filled every seat of the car.
On our last trip, it would only be the four of us each time. I don't mind having other people in the car with us & I know it helps make the line faster. I would just like to have at least one picture with just the 4 of us.


We have a 10:50 brkfst (or brunch for us today) at Akershus.
We ate a protein bar this morning & Levi is getting hungry. Lexi could go all day w/out eating, but Levi is a growing boy and he lets us know when meal time is.

We've never been to World Showcase before, and I'm excited about going.

We went inside this little house? Levi & Lexi had read a book on Norway before coming to WDW, so they enjoyed everything in here & seeing Eric the Red.

The breakfast was sooooo good! I'm sorry, but I didn't remember to take pictures of the food for my TR. But, I would highly recommend it!

All of the princesses came by.

Brad's trying to step out on me with a princess, but he knows who the queen of his heart is!

Snow White loved my shirt and said we had to take a picture together.

After we ate, we rode Maelstrom. The kids loved it, so we rode it two more times! There was never a wait.

We looked around the Norway store.

A couple in the store offered to take a family picture

Then, I took a family picture for them.


Then went back towards Mexico. I could not for the life of me find the Mexico showcase. I thought the Aztec Pyramid was just the San Angel restaurant. I did not know the showcase & restaurant was inside the pyramid. . We finally figured it out (after we had to ask a CM) .

It's a Small World was closed when we were at WDW & I was about that. I liked the Grand Fiesta Tour in Mexico because it reminded me of IASW.

The Donald Duck pinata was just too cute!

We ride test track again. You can tell it's nap time.

The kids are begging for a hat, so we go to Mouse Gears.

We're now in Mouse Gears

They have been trying on all hats since we arrived at DTD last night.

I tried to talk them into getting these cute hats. They match each other & the colors will go great with all their weeks outfits!

They pick out their hats & I still do not like them.

I tell Levi that it will be just too hot for wearing the hat at Disney.
He didn't care.
I tell Levi that it really doesn't match all the shirts I spent hours planning & making for this trip.
He didn't care.
I tell him that I'll give him $5 if he picks another hat.
No deal.
I'll give you 10 more $.
No deal.
Brad lets me know I need to be happy that he at least he still likes wearing a Disney hat. I agree.
I tell Levi, "Mama's sorry about that, pick out whatever hat you want".

My payback for thinking bad of the furry stitch hat.
The goofy hat is kind of cute, but I do not like the big, furry rodent hat


Will we ever get our text that our room is ready?

We loved Akershus for breakfast too! I don't think you're ever too old to have breakfast with the princesses and thankfully Jasmine agrees with me

Wow, that Belle is beautiful! I have only met her once or twice in her gown. It looks gorgeous!

Love the pic of everyone "sleeping" on Test Track. The other two in your car don't look too thrilled to be on the ride, so they might as well have been sleeping for real!

So that's how you had a flashback of the furry hat from earlier. I can't wait to see if he ends up keeping it on the rest of the trip. It sure does look like it would be hot!

nice updates!!! Sorry about the hat drama! I felt the same way about the room text when we were in Epcot in March! We finally got ours too but it was just after 3..I had called the front desk, they said the room was ready, and as we were walking out, we got the text!

Excellent update! I love World Showcase SO much!!! So excited to see pictures of the room! I've never been to that resort, but I'd love the chance to resort hop sometime in the future. There's never enough time at Disney!

Love this update!! I love the hat part the best, too funny and the conversation is sooooo familiar to me!! You're a good Mommy, sometimes we have to chose our battles and Brad was right (and Todd, too, in our case....) at least he wants to wear a Disney hat!!!!But I so get it!!!

Your TT pic was too cute with you all "napping" I can NEVER figure out where they take pics to make cute pics! Someday, I'll hopefully figure it out!

Could your family be any cuter, I mean really...Glad to see the boys getting in the princess pic taking action. It is very hard when they pick things we don't like. We are now to this stage here. Luckily I still pack for them so they will wear what I want. Cayley really wanted me to get a Chip or Dale hat cause I them. She would yell, "Mama, there is ur buddy" everytime she saw one. it was cute the first 10 times

The hat story was too funny! You had me laughing as you increased the bribe to get him to go with another. Glad you let him get it. That thing has to be so rough in the heat so I am wondering how long it's going to last on his head!

Hah! I remember seeing that hat and thinking it would be uncomfortably warm. There was also someone wearing one at the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and the Monsters were making fun of the kid like crazy..."Ah...it's a giant rodent!"

Though for all that, I didn't think it a bad hat. The people wearing the hat's that were Donald's butt...now THAT'S a bad hat!

~DH and I love the "get there quicker than the GPS" game too! We totally worry when we stop for gas, etc...look at the time we lost...

~love that Lexi surrounds herself with her stuffed animals...my comments will probably be mostly about her since I have my girls. My girls bought dolphins our last trip (what says Disney like dolphins? ) The trip before, they bought flamigos and bats. All of their animals have come from Animal Kingdom Lodge. (Sadly, my girls are not into Disney characters.)

Love the hats!! Karma rocks, don't you think? hehe. I was happy that my girls wore a special shirt one day at Disney. No mouse ears for them. Also, my daughters want no parts of the adorable clothes you put on Lexi, so there are many days I shake my head at the outfits they put together. (They began this decision making around age 3...I am comfortable picking battles: church, special occasions, etc.)

Can't wait to read more!
