Disney Vacay with the Love Bugs (New 6/23 update ~ Chef Mickeys)

Now that the holidays are over & the kids are back in school I hope to stay caught up on the Dis!
We a great Christmas Day. We had our 1st white Christmas in my lifetime. The last time there was a white Christmas here was in Nineteen sixty-something. The day after Christmas Levi was sick & didn't play in the snow. I knew something was wrong when he couldn't even get off the couch to go play in the snow with the other kids. We took him to the Dr & he had pneumonia & the flu. The poor thing was so sick for a week . But, at least no one else in the family caught it!

After 3 years of asking, Lexi finally gets her AG doll.

I hope everyone had a great New Year. Levi was still sick so we were home bound, but we did watch the ball drop on t.v.

This was our only morning not getting up early for park opening since we stayed out late the night before for MK EMH.
The kids ate cereal in the room & I had a Protein bar. We were ready to leave around 9:30 and I really hate starting late.

Lexi & Levi are opposite on picture taking. Lexi is always ready to pose & always wants to have a picture made. I have to make Levi get his picture made. He’s finally learning to just smile & get it over with quickly. I always have about 10 pictures of Lexi to every 1 of Levi.

How many different poses can we take on the bus?

Today we’re going to Animal Kingdom.

Levi is super excited to go & ride Expedition Everest for the 1st time. Alexis was excited about it before we left for WDW, but now that we’re here, she’s starting to get nervous & already wants to back out.
In AK, we’ve only been on the Safari & It’s a Bug’s Life. I’m so excited to ride Kali River Rapids today!

I made Lexi & I matching shirts using the designs from the Disboards Creative thread.

We ride the Safari 1st.

We’re hungry for lunch. I check our map & decide to eat at Restaurantosaurus. We head towards Dinoland.

We’ve only done the Safari this morning & I’m already miserable from the heat just walking from the Safari to Dinoland. I am so happy when we finally get there & we’re able to sit down in A/C.
Lexi & Levi were begging to ride Primival Whirl as soon as they saw it. I told them we would after lunch.
Our lunch at Restaurantosaurus was good and I remembered to take food pics. The kids ordered burger/fries & it came in a sand bucket. I ordered a Taco salad w/black beans, corn, tomatoes & jalapeno peppers. Brad ordered a burger. Dessert was a chocolate mousse & cheesecake.

After we ate, Brad waited on a bench for us because he’s not going to get on a spinning ride. But, I LOVE spinning rides. There was no one else riding Primival Whirl. We walked right on & were the only ones there. It’s pretty fun, but I wish it spun around more than it did. When we were finished, L & L wanted to ride again. We were the only ones again except for a female single rider who looked to be around my age. They put her in the car with us sitting by Lexi. She was foreign & I could not understand her. Lexi is my social butterfly & they carried on a conversation the whole time, screamed together, held on to each other & raised hands up the air together. At the end, Lexi & her gave each other their good-byes and then we went around again to ride for a 3rd time. L & L wanted to a ride a 4th time, but I was ready to move on.

Up next is Dinosaur! Another 1st that I’m excited about. I had read on the Dis that there is a Dinosaur that jumps out at you. Since I’m such a good mama, I have my kids to sit on the outside and Brad & I sit in the middle. They didn’t know what to expect on the ride & it couldn’t have been more perfect. The 1st Dinosaur jumped out on Levi’s side freaking him out. He tried to dive to the floor the best he could with having a seatbelt on.

In the middle row, you can see Levi & Lexi ducking in the picture. I am actually crying from laughing so hard at Levi during the ride. That's why my hand is at my eye, I'm wiping away tears. He is always brave & acting so tough on every ride, but he failed miserably on this one!

In the end, we all LOVED this ride & it is one of my new favorites!

Hope Levi is all better soon! That is one bad combination to have to endure any time, but especially during Christmas.

Wow, love the Animal Kingdom pics. It has been forever since I went there! (oh, wait a minute.....) You need to ride Primeval Whirl with my boys. They know how to make that sucker spin almost the whole time! Love Dinosaur, and can't wait to hear all about your ride on EE!!!

Levi is better this week. I told him at least he wasn't sick until the day AFTER Christmas.

The pj's is one of our traditions too! The salad was VERY good & it was nice just to be able to sit down in the A/C.
I'm crazy in that I love the spinning rides. I would've kept riding, but I didn't want to keep Brad waiting on us for too long in the heat.

Isn't Dinosaur too much fun? I LOVE that ride, but it gets such icky threads on here from those that don't care for it. Hilarious that you had the kids sitting on the outside!

And.. I just learned something for our next AK visit! I've noticed kids running around with those sand buckets, but didn't really think about it much. Now I know where they came from! I see a lunch there in my boys' future. Thanks!

We do not get snow often even after Jan. I did not believe the weather forecast at all that week & couldn't believe it when it actually did come. It was very cool!
Dinosaur was very fun. I wish we would have rode it more than just once. I cannot believe you have not tried EE, you should give it a try at least once!

I'm glad Levi didn't get sick until after Christmas, but I hate he missed playing in the snow. Around here, you never now when it will come again, it may not be until 2012!
Dinosaur was very fun. I was nervous about it because of the bad post I've read, but we really liked it.
Yes, all the buckets are coming from the restaurant. We didn't want to carry ours around, so we just left ours in the restaurant.

No, this was not the 1st time the kids saw snow, it was just the 1st time that it has ever snowed on Christmas day. Sorry for the confusion. We do not get snow much here though & never in December.
It is so hot in AK & everything is so spread apart that you're walking in the heat longer than in other parks. We did have a great day.

mmm taco salad, i love those. we even got some metal bowls from candis avon to make your own bowls they are good, i dont eat em any other way.

we do the PJ's as well, but we usually get a new seat each year, but our collectoin was growing to much so i told her we should take a year off, and just wear an old set this year.

The taco salad was great! We eat Mexican all the time, about 2x/week.

Love your day at AK! I dislike spinning rides (teacups) but don't mind Prim Whirl...we always have to wait in a LONG line - it is quite slow loading. Unfortunately, it will be refurbed while we are there the end of this month. My girls are disappointed.

I think Dinosaur is great, but the last time I rode it, I totally understood why it freaks out little kids. I think it is too loud. Combine the volume with the narrator always saying go, go, go - I get anxious! It is certainly a ride to do multiple times to be able to take in more and more!

Can't wait to see if Lexi does EE! (Another of my girls' favs!)

Thankfully there was not a long line for Prim Whirl, but the walk back around at the end of the ride & the queue is so long that it seemed like it took forever to get back on.
I did not realize that you were going back this month, I'm jealous! I'm sorry your girls are going to miss it this trip. I wonder what they are going to do for the refurb?
You're right about Dinosaur being very loud. We were only able to ride it once during our trip, I wish we had rode it at least one more time.
