My husband and I, no kids, wish to arrive and stay at Disney on a Saturday next year. Do cirque and dinner. Then start touring parks on Sunday. We hope that we can park hop two parks on the same day, so that we may leave Disney early and go to universal. We only want to do the parks sun-tues, if at all possible because we really want to stay at the hardrock at universal. We will be able to take advantage of their express pass and wish to do both universal studios and their other on site park. Then head back home on a Friday. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? We have thought about staying at akl so that we can see the animals, and then only spend 1/2 a day there. Any options of thoughts would be great. Thanks

Disney has much more to see and do than US/IOA.

I love the way AKL looks -I don't like it location.

How about WL - or better yet if you can afford it BC - it is close to EPcot and Studios - you can ride a boat or walk - walking is generally faster to both of these parks from the BC, YC or BW.

which wdw parks are you going to attempt to see - if EPcot or studios then BC is perfect.

if the MK and Epcot - then I would suggest the Polyn (much more expensive).

if you want the AK - then I would go for Pop Century - the AK is not that close to any of the resorts - even the AKL is not within walking distance - and PC is just about as close - so I would go with the cheapest in the area that is still nice. Pop is very nice - has a lake and a very good food court, plus a lounge and bar by the main pool.

You can rent points from a DVC member and stay in a DVC resort - VWL, BWV, BCV, OKW or the new SSR.

If you are planning on going to PI at night then I would go for SSR.

VWL has boat transportation to the MK.

BWV and BCV are Epcot resorts and like the BC has easy access to both Epcot and Studios.

OKW has bus transportation to everything. Also has boat transportation to DD. OKW has 2 queen beds - the others have 1 queen bed and a double sleeper sofa - all have a kitchennett - microwave, under-the-counter refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, wet sink, etc. I am assume you would want a studio - it is more like a hotel room.

the 1-bedroom and up - have a full kitchen (small except OKW) - and a king bed in the master and a queen sleeper sofa in the livingroom. there is a whirlpool tub and a shower stall in the larger bathroom.

WDW has early entry and on some night E-nights. they also have fast passes.

I think staying at the BWI would be a good choice. It is a very close walk to EPCOT, and a 15 min walk to MGM. The Boardwalk is right there, for great access to dining/entertainment. The YC/BC is just a boat ride across the lake, with other dining options there. You may also want to check out the various cruises available.
