Disney TV at Sears for $29! Better Hurry

Once your order is submitted to us, we cannot change or cancel an order until your merchandise is received by you. All returns of merchandise are subject to Sears return policy, available under Returns/Cancellations.

Hmmm--this is what I read under their terms of agreement.

Also, because it was an obvious mistake, I would not be up in arms about Sears cancelling the transaction. I doubt that selling hundreds of TVs at 1/4th the price is a "drop in the bucket" for Sears or any other department store. Also, going to the store to look for "some stupid salesperson" in hopes they don't catch it.....well that just seems wrong.

Sears doesn't pay $140.00 for the TV's. There is a mark up though I am not sure what it is on TV's. They would lose some money on the TV's if they honored orders but they would get happy customers. Happy customers return to the store and spend more money. It looks like they will lose a lot of customers because they handled the situation poorly. In the long run they would have been financially better off if they fixed the price on the site days ago and honored the price. They could have fixed the price right away and told people it was a pricing error and they had to cancel the orders and that would have worked also. Three days later the price on the web is still wrong and they continue to take orders on and off. They are lying to people about their credit cards and being rude to people on the phone. There is no excuse for that.

Please don't be mad at me. I'm not the one that advertised a sales price of 29.99. If you were shopping and had a number of Christmas presents to buy, wouldn't you take advantage of a great sale? That's all I did. I always buy multiples of things on sale, like 2 for 1 or even the buy one get one free games right now on the toysrus sale. Don't lose sight of the fact that Sears isn't honoring their ad.

rie'smom, I don't see why anyone would be mad at you. You did nothing wrong. There was no limit put on the TV's so you (or anyone else) had every right to buy as many as you wanted to.

So, I just called my local Sears store, and spoke with someone in the televisions department. He said that they do not have the TV in stock, which I expected. I explained that I ordered it online and asked if they would be honoring the price when it comes in and he said "if you ordered it, then yeah." Then, I asked him if they were planning on getting more in stock and he said "we might." All in all, a pretty useless conversation, but it was interesting to hear him say that if they do get it in stock, I should be able to get it. Of course, I'm not going to get my hopes up though... :rolleyes1

it is still listed on the website but when youclick on it it won't show up...so we called the store and they said it is 142...
thencalled the website and said they pulled it off their site and no longer have any right now...
probably sold out...bet someonemade a huge typo! I am so disappointed!!! REALLY needed and wanted that...
great for those who did!
If anyone here sees one let me know! Thanks!

OMG..I wish they would just call me already! I know I should just let it go, but I still have not received any cancellation email or phone call, AND when I pull it up on their website it shows my order and when it will be at the store for pick up!

I just want to stop thinking about it. It's not about the TV, just wondering which way it's gonna go, and just fuming mad at how they are handling all of this.

We tried to buy one..not because of the sale, but because it WAS SOMETHING THAT WAS ON MY DS'S CHRISTMAS LIST ALREADY, and I just thought, "GREAT, and can go ahead and scratch that off the list AND save a few bucks in the process!"

When and if they do call me, I will let them know quick.. I WILL STILL BE GETTING A 19" MICKEY TV, BUT IT WON'T BE FROM THEM!

I will NEVER shop at Sears again! Hmmm....just when we are getting ready to buy a whole house full of new appliances too..their loss!

Well, this is interesting....I just got an e-mail that my merchandise is ready for pick up. I am now calling the store to verify.

Per my sore, my TV is ready for pck up....I'll let everyone know what happens....

Just a thought.......

Don't you think that the employees at Sears would have jumped to purchase this TV? Wouldn't they have called all their friends and family to buy new TVs? I mean word here spreads so fast, wouldn't they have done the same?

Aside from the Disboards, where else do you think word spread about this deal? Do you think that many people are getting cancellation notices?

Just wondering.

it is possible that people may get cancellation notices, but if it still on the site at all the stores should be honoring the price if they have any in stock...??? don't you agree? ours has them in stock but will only charge 142 for it!

I called my sears store at 9:40 this morning,,they opened at 9:30...I asked if they are honoring the sale on the WEB SITE since it is STILL there this morning,,he said yes,,,I almost killed my self getting dressed :rotfl: ...so I get there and I asked for MIKE the guy I talked to on the phone,,he says yes we have them,,,off he goes to computer,,,HUMMMMMMMMm starts saying HUMMm HUMMMMMMm,,,leaves comes back,,says OK we have them,,back to computer,,,HUMMMMHUMMMMMMMMMMMMM hold on,,off to the back again,,,NOW HW SAYS oh that a mistake,,we are not honoring that price,,,WELL ALL I CAN SAY is THANK GOD FOR MIKE and ME that I do not have a bad temper :rotfl: :rotfl: nah nothings THAT important ,,but man,,already,,I called before hand,,got a yes,,,got a yes in the store,,and then a NO...AND THE DA***** thing is STILLLLLL on the web site,,,,I called them and they said the are taking it off today-----DEEEDAAAAAAAAAAA

When I went to pick mine up the guy who rang me up said he went to go order one but it was too late, they had already shut it down.

No worries. I bought 3 - one for me and two for my nieces.

Yes, this deal spread like wildfire. There are A LOT of sites mentioning it. I'm reading at Slickdeals.net, Fatwallet.com, and mycoupons.com that it was posted around 10/8 and some as late as today.

Report them to the BBB or your state Attorney General if you want, but sadly they can and most likely will get away with it. This is certainly not the only and last time it has happened.

Then again I am immune to the anger and disappointment because deals like this come and go. Yup, let it go... there will be other deals.

Ries mom... who could be mad at you? It's nobody's business what you do with them... The only one to be mad at here is Sears. I think people are taking frustrations out in the wrong way...

Let's face it people- Sears is wise to this. All of us who got confirmations saying we will be getting these-LET IT GO!! The TV's are not coming! I did it all, ordered online, store said it was ready, called they said I could pick up, went to store to pick up they said it was an error, fought w/ manager in store, tried another store, called Sears National Customer Service Dept & spoke w/ a manager there (got # from Sears Store) THEY ARE NOT HONORING THIS... Yes, it STINKS, but let it go. The only people who are getting these TVs are the ones who are lucky enough to have stores in their area whose managers have not read their memos. If you don't have a clueless Sears in your area- Oh well...

Congrats to those who bought them-Wish I got one too, but c'mon, with all that's wrong in the world these days, do we really need to focus so much energy on a pricing error from Sears? :grouphug:

Well--take the copy of the internet price and your conf. # to Circuit City--some stores still have these in stock and are honoring this price!!! Pretty said when other stores are willing to honor the price mistake at another store. (even when they are unwilling to honor it) I just rushed out at lunch and picked one up. The mgr said he would only let one per person buy one--but, thats all I needed!! So I have a Disney tv and they are HUGE!!!!!!!

I just filed my complaint. ***HERE IS THE AD AS LISTED AT SEARS.COM***
Disney Electronics Disney Electronics 19 in. Color TV, Classic
Sears item #05723193000
Mfr. model #DT1900-C Now $29.97
Was $149.99
Save $120.02
While quantities last
Intermediate markdowns may have been taken
Rebate details

I am adding details of the web ad so others can refer to it if need be in their complaint. It may be an error but they should have fixed it by now. Think about it, if you 'on error' forgot to pay your Sears credit card bill...would Sears except that excuse and write off late fees? Not that I know of, shouldn't they be held accountable for their errors too?

I've been on the phone all morning, and ended up filing my Sears complaint too! Now I"m waiting for them to call me back!

Per Sears.com, they said the stores are supposed to honor the pricing error .... lets see what happens!

I have tried 6 different Citcuit City's and they all said they do NOT match internet sales. BUMMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
