Can you take Disney Transportation to a grocery store or within easy walking distance of one?

Do they stop at the Crossroads Shopping center?

Thinking of not having a rent car on our next trip, we'll be there 11 days so we might want to have an additional grocery trip during our stay. We'll be in a DVC 1 bedroom, don't really cook but like to have snacks and quick breakfast / meal items and drinks in the room.

Disney transport won't take you there, but I found out through a web search that Goodings at Crossroads will deliver to Disney resorts for a $10 fee. There is a minimum $50 purchase. I think this is what we are going to do when we are down over New Year's.

Another option you might look into is taking the Lynx bus. You can get the #56 at the TTC and take it to Publix.

It depends on what you consider to be 'walking distance'. Crossroads is about 20 minutes brisk walk from the Downtown Disney bus terminus, longer coming back carrying bags of groceries.

Goodings at Crossroads has a phone to call a taxi cab for your return trip. I used a taxi cab to get to a Publix & back last trip. Can't remember what I paid, but it wasn't excessive.

In any case, each DVC property has a provisions store on site nearby. Limited selection, Disney prices, but adequate for a few simple items.

If you use the Lynx #56, bear in mind that the only DVC resort with a direct bus link to TTC is Wilderness Lodge. From all other resorts you would have to go first to Magic Kingdom, then change to the Monorail to TTC, making for a long, long trip each way.

Another option is to use Netgrocer.com or mail some nonperishable foods directly to your resort.
