Disney Traditions

Our arrival day tradition is to resort hop along the monorail line soaking up the atmosphere in each resort and then taking the boat launch over to FW Campground to do the same. Watch the electrical water pageant from FW marina. Traditional souvenir buys would be beach towels, Christmas ornaments and a piece to my Disney Village that I set up each year under our Disney X-mas tree.

We always do all of the 3-D attractions. We always do character meals. The one restaraunt that we always go to more than once in a trio is Boma!

First day - Arrive at room, unpack, head straight for MK. I have no idea why. It just feels right. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Buy the ride photos
Eat at the Biergarten and Le Cellier
Eat a Dole Whip
Ride all of my favorites and ride with nephew/nieces - their pick
Spend the evenings poolside with a fruity drink, talking about our day
Spend an evening at Downtown Disney shopping picking up: magnets, beachtowels, and newly added - ornaments
Buy pins!!
Take lots of pictures of everything!

Must go to Mk first. not going there first would seem just wrong :confused3 A photo of dd on the carousel we have a picture of her every trip starting with her first birthday and now we are 6 years later at almost 7. Must have a mickey head ice cream bar :mickeybar would like 1 a day but....SpectroMagic as many times as possible...(dd would say Cinderellabration but we won't have to worry about that) Christmas ornaments I don't really "need" them but again it would seem wrong not to come home with at least 1.

"good morning" cookies at the Main St. Bakery since my children were little. The 13yr old is already talking about it for next week.

Cape May Cafe for dinner on the night of arrival so I can eat a ridiculous amount of clams that will far exceed my entire fook intake for any other 2 days combined! :teeth:

Renting of a boat on our last day at OKW.

My sister and I (both 50-ish - me more so, her less so) ride the monorail around several times - newest part of this tradition is asking to ride up front if we have newbies with us.

The 2 of us riding Buzz Lightyear as many times as possible during a quiet time using FP and running from the exit to the entrance. Ususally we get 3 or 4 rides in in a relatively short time period. ANd if the ride breaks down while we are inside - EVEN BETTER!

Doing TTA and COP, even if absolutely no one else is.

We are Disney nuts - and no one else in the family understands this, so aren't we lucky to have each other?!

arrive, unpack and head to DTD.. We like to have a relaxing evening before heading out to parks first thing the next morning.

We always find a new place to eat at DTD each time.

We always get a picture in front of Cinderella's castle, buy christmas ornaments, coffee mugs, refrigerator magnets, and eat at Crystal Palace.
Still have not figured out the "dole whip".

Please keep sharing your traditions with us all. :wave2:

On every Disney trip we must eat at Tony's and LeCellier. We must eat Mickey head ice cream asap. :mickeybar

Must buy souveniers--ornaments for my Disney tree and as many Donald Duck pins as I can possibly find. :donald:

Must ride Space Mountain as many times as possible.

We usually go to MK or EPCOT first thing; whichever we don't do, we do the next day since those are our favorites. However, this past year we got to POR and were in our rooms around 11:30. We thought we would head to AK since we normally spend about a half a day in that park anyway. The whole trip had a wierd "out of sorts" feeling to me. I felt like I was missing something the whole time. :confused3 Guess I know our schedule for this year's trip!! :goodvibes

On each of our annual WDW vacations, we have taken a picture of our 2 boys in front of the Adventureland sign in the MK. We have been doing this since 1993 and it is amazing to see how much they have changed over the years. They are now 17 and 22, and we plan to take that pic again when we are there next week!

Eat dinner somewhere and then fall into bed as we've usually been travelling for about 14 hours. Then we waken about 3am beacuse of the time difference. :cool1:

After check in, we take a seat out on the padio, or balcony, take in the view, hold each other and say "we're back", then its a walk around the boardwalk, and head to MK.

We always store our luggage, then head to CHH in MK for lunch :)

We always eat at Boma and Chef Mickeys. We also take a group pic with the Goofy statue in MK.

If they are speaking of the same dole whip... it is a frozen custard made out of pineapple. There is a stand near the entrance of adventure land? If my memory serves me correctly. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. One thing I know for sure is they are tasty!

On our first night we do a character meal and one of the evening shows. In Nov. it was Chef Mickey's followed by Wishes (which we didn't really see, but that was the plan)-- this trip it's 1900 Park Fare followed by Illuminations.

The other tradition is surprising DD with something. Last time it was the entire trip (she had NO clue) and this year it's the character meal our first night and another dinner later in the trip.

Check in, unpack and relax for a little while since we drive and then head to DTD to eat at Earl of Sandwich and the necessary stroll through world of Disney to buy first sovenier.
