Hi guys,

I'm contemplating getting a tour for my bf and I as a christmas present. Specifically, I'm looking at Keys to the Kingdom or UnDISCOVERED Future World.

My bf and I are both super Disney nerds and probably know more than the average person about the parks. I worked at a resort for a semester in college, so I've seen the utilidors and such, but he hasn't and he's expressed interest in doing so, but is definitely more of an EPCOT fan.

I guess my questions are as follows:

1) Has anyone done these two particular tours and what did you think?
2) Would they be too basic in the info they share for us? Is it mostly stuff you can read on the internet?
3) How much of the tour is in restricted/CM-only areas vs. stuff we could see whenever?
4) Did you think the tour was worth the cost? I get the Disney Visa discount, so it is a bit off the listed price, but it'll still be ~$150. I don't mind paying that kind of money for something, but I also want to feel like I got my money's worth.
5) For those who have done both, which did you prefer and why?

Thanks for the help!

If they still offer Behind the Seeds tour at Living With The Land, that was really worth the $12 per adult price (w/Disney Visa, 15% off non-discounted tour price). I'm not much of a gardener, but I thought it was interesting and our guide was really enthusiastic about showing us everything. Tour lasted about an hour and we got to feed the fish!

My husband and I did the future world one earlier this year. I actually read that Keys to the Kingdom is better, but it wasn't offed during our trip days. We enjoyed it, but I don't think I learned much new that I haven't read or heard elsewhere. However, for me one of the big thrills is feeling like a VIP! It's fun to take the back entrance onto Soarin (though I don't think you are guaranteed to be able to do that), and go to the vip lounge at Test Track, etc. We also got a reserved viewing area in front of Italy did illuminations which was quite nice.

I think it was well worth the money, just because it's something a little different than the normal hustle and bustle of the parks.

We also did the Behind the Seeds tour, and that one is definitely worth it for the price, if you are at all interested in plants or gaming. (Even if not!) Again, it was nice to take some time out and just learn some new things in a unique environment, if that makes sense.

:) We did Keys to the Kingdom several years ago and loved it. We went on a morning tour and had lunch at Columbia Harbor House. We rode HM, PP and PotC. She told us unique things to look for on each ride which was wonderful and those things I still see today and love thinking about that day. We got a nice tour of the utilidors and were able to ask pretty much anything "off stage" like "how many Mickey's are on stage at one time and where?" "how do the face characters put on their makeup?". It was a fun day and we were glad we had he opportunity to go. I still have my Keys pin. So I think it is a great tour for any enthusiast. I felt like a VIP that day. I enjoye dthe fact that it was lots of stuff abut one park.

I have also done the Yuletide tour and wasn't as thrilled, great CMs though. We were kinda rushed around three parks if I remember and just didn't have the same vibe.
