Disney to cancel FPs if room is cancelled

I’m not talking about throwaways. I would hope they can figure out that one, but I suspect they don’t care because they get paid (occupied or not).

Yea that seems to be the case.

Raising prices even further (and selling FP) would free them up (reduce demand and crowds) I suppose.
I know it won't make a big difference regarding my actions, but they have already pushed the pricing for my family budget.
I have already cut way back compared to the past ten years.
If they charge much more for anything (over the rate on CPI, of course) then me and others may really cut back on WDW and spend money somewhere else.
It is getting painful......and complicated to enjoy WDW.
(But I am not saying I enjoyed those sweaty sprints to the paper FP machine in the old days)

Agreed, I had really hoped the "must be in the park" and not able to use other bands etc would have helped a lot. Didn't at all that I ever heard.
Honestly, the easiest solution is to do same day only FP, similar to MaxPass at Disneyland. This would close all of the loopholes, as you wouldn't even be able to book a FP until you enter a park and even then you don't get to choose the return time, you get the return time you get for the attraction.

I agree, I wish they would just start this as then there would be no reason to make all of these fake reservations. They clearly have it in their heads that they want on-site guests to get FP as a perk, but it seems to just be causing issues...

Too much invested in this system at this point. No way they just reverse everything.

No thank you. The ability to book ahead is so much better than having to get to the park right at opening to get any good fastpasses. I don't miss those days at all.

Yesterday, I was told by a DVC CM that my cash/DVC split stay would be treated as one.

And today people are reporting calling, emailing, and chatting with MS and being told that they will be treated as split stays, not continuous. It will be interesting to watch this play out!

I agree - I'd much rather know ahead of time what I was able to get a FP for and what time and plan my day around that vs having to get there at park opening and participate in the "running of the bulls" to get a FP for *sometime* later

Maybe Maxpass helps things but I'd rather not pay an extra $50/day for my family to have that and still have that uncertainty heading into our trip

I still have a few months to see how this will play out. If DVC will not combine a split stay, I will probably switch to a Universal Hotel and spend our first three days there.
