Disney to cancel FPs if room is cancelled

I agree - I'd much rather know ahead of time what I was able to get a FP for and what time and plan my day around that vs having to get there at park opening and participate in the "running of the bulls" to get a FP for *sometime* later

Maybe Maxpass helps things but I'd rather not pay an extra $50/day for my family to have that and still have that uncertainty heading into our trip
No running of the bulls, you book form your phone (or a kiosk if you don't have one) and you get one FP at a time. There would be no need to get there at park opening either, you would get FPs for what you want to ride on, all of this pre-planning is way too much work for a vacation, it should be able to be relaxed and not try to micromanage your day.

Honestly, Maxpass is worth every penny at Disneyland, but I don't think they would be able to charge for it at Disney World since there are no more paper FP machines there.

Really, it is nice to simply open the app, look at the return times and say I want to go on Haunted Mansion for example based on the current return times. So much less stress.

If FP's could only be made day of, in park, and I could still refresh, modify, etc as it currently stands, I'd be all for it!! :)
Yep, the big differences would be:
  • You can't pick your return time
  • Only one FP at a time (This would be essential so that no one would have to show up at park opening just to get good FPs)

I'd be ok with one at a time but I want to be able to modify to earlier times, not be stuck with some time later in the day.

The time you get would be the earliest available for that attraction, there is no picking times at all. You open the app and it says Haunted Mansion has a 60 minute wait or a return time between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM, that is the earliest return time and only return time available at that moment for Haunted Mansion. Basically, works just like the old paper FPs without the paper.

Ok, not interested then lol

Hey! My family and I are about 40 days out for our trip. We have a room-only reservation at All-Star sports, and we already made the 60 day FP reservations. But we are thinking of staying off property at an Airbnb because more family members are planning to join us! We are NOT trying to game the system, but when should I cancel my reservation?

If I cancel the room ASAP, will my fastpasses disappear right away? And will I be able to book again at the 30 day mark? Or will it take a few days before the 60-day FPs disappear??

What happens if I cancel the room AFTER the 30 days out (for example 21 days out) from the trip? Will I get to keep the FPs or will they get deleted and I’ll have to start all over?

I’m trying to do the best (and most honest) thing to not screw myself over in this fastpass situation! Any advice?

Honestly, the easiest solution is to do same day only FP, similar to MaxPass at Disneyland. This would close all of the loopholes, as you wouldn't even be able to book a FP until you enter a park and even then you don't get to choose the return time, you get the return time you get for the attraction.

My point is all these changes (loop hole closes) don't appear to be helping anyway. I don't think this new one will either.

Still easiest to book onsite and reserve when the window opens. I was just hoping overall availability would improve, even up to night before and day of.
