After reading a recent post announcing an upcoming birth, I got to wondering...has anyone given their child a Disney type name?

We joked about it, since our son is a souvenier ;)
but we went with Matthew James.
I have a friend whose son is a souvenier too..and he is Zachary Elias(after Walter Elias Disney of course!)

We had a cat we named Ariel, but I can't imagine DS would have liked being named "Jiminy" or "Mortimer Mouse Tomorrow" :rotfl2: . There are some nice names, though: Belle, Jasmine, Cap'n Jack, etc....

Thanks for the responses! We are kicking around the idea of Christopher Robin but then worry we might be dooming him to a life of teasing. ;)

*smile* most people will never know his "middle" name unless he actually uses it, so I think that is a wonderful name!

I thought about that too but I can see me being in the habit of always using both names (since they really do go together in my vocabulary) and it probably wouldn't take his friends long to figure it out. I know my mom tried to be careful but always blurted out my nickname at the most embarrasing times. ;)

our dd's name is Madeline after that cute little red head "Madeline", although our dd is not a red head :flower:

My little niece is Victoria Ariel but we didn't do that for any of our kids.

My oldest son's name is Christopher and when my youngest went through his Winnie the Pooh stage he started calling his brother Christopher Robin. :rotfl2: Unfortunately Christopher didn't think it was as funny and cute as we did. :confused3

My :cat: is Sunny (Gummy Bears Cartoon).

My DH bird is Milo (Altantis)

My DS :cat: will be named Faline (Bambi)

WHY DON'T THEY HAVE A BIRD IN THE SMILES??

Personally no - but I have met a lot of children named Ariel, Jasmine, and Aurora (no joke!!!). Other than the princesses names, though - no. I think Christopher Robin would be cute, but you certainly would have to with-hold the middle name using!

My friend Shelly that works at The Disney STore has two little girls, one is Haley Jasmine, and the other is Mackenzie Belle. Shelly has worked at TDS for more then 10 years so I am sure her 5 year old and 2 year old middles names have something to do with Disney Characters.

Our children's names are Andy and Molly, which happen to be the names of the kids in Toy Story. Total coincidence...at least that's my wife's story and she's sticking to it. ;)

Actually she had picked out the name "Molly" before we even knew whether our first child was a boy or a girl. When we discovered that we were having a boy, we went through the typical back-and-forth debate of different names. I suggested "Andy" about 11:30 at night a couple weeks before he was born, and it stuck.

Awww c'mon, now you have to tell us--what is your Mom's nickname for you? :sunny:

Well, I'm sure "nicknames" don't count, but my 2.5 year old was Grumpy for her first year, and my 9 month old is currently referred to as Beast.

I have a cousin named Ariel, but she was born well before the Little Mermaid was created. Her mom was quite disappointed to find out a character was named after her DD. She thought she was being different. i told her to call her by her middle name Nadia.

We named DD Melody :earsgirl: . A few years later Disney named Ariel's daughter after her :earboy2: !

My DD6 Emilie has asked many times if she can change her name to Jasmine. I told her she can when she's 18. So we'll see if she still wants to do that when she's 18!

There was a Jasmine in her gymnastics class at one point, and she just wanted to be next to her at all times.

We didn't, but our friends named their daughter Isabelle and call her "Belle" because of Beauty and the Beast. We have met a couple Belle's and 1 Jasmine, but no Aurora's! I think Christopher Robin is very cute! :flower:
