For years I have been wanting to decorate one of my bathrooms with Disney items, particularly Mickey Mouse. I noticed that Target now carries items but are there other places to pick up similar items at a reasonable price?

I have the target mickey mouse bathroom. I just got one of the mickey ear rugs and used just a plain black rug for around the toilet.

We have a pooh bathroom (all puns intended!!)
Started it when the kids were little, and they won't allow me to change it!!
You can find plenty of disney bath accessories (shower curtains etc.) if you shop around. Have fun!!!

Scroll down to the Creative Community section and search the Home decorating threads. There have been some cute and clever ideas there.

ETA - sorry - looks like a lot has been purged from that discussion

Don't forget to check Disney Store online. I have a Disney bathroom that began with Vintage Mickey items from Disney online then added from Target's collection. I also bought black frames and added family pictures from previous visits and framed the nice art postcards from Disney. I really like the castle postcards. I'm not done yet, but it is really coming together.

Have fun!

I just did my bathroom in the Target set. Black Paint on the bottom, white chair-rail in the middle and red paint on top. We love it. All I want now is some mickey cabinet knobs, I want the gloves but have not seen them in years, keeping my eye on ebay!

My DSIL had her bathroom done in Pirates of the Caribbean. I know it isn't totally Disney, but do you know how hard it is to do your business with Johnny Depp staring at you. :rotfl:

I've done my small guest bathroom using some of the items from Target: Mickey Mouse toothbrush holder, Mickey "hand" white soap dish, black Mickey Ears soap dispenser, Mickey hand towels and Mickey full-size bath towel.

I had to order all of the items off of the Target website because they were never available at my local store. Now my Target has some of the items (Shower curtain, shower hooks, rug, wastebasket and plastic tumbler). I'm debating buying the Mickey Mouse wastebasket, but it is kind of pricey ($20).

I made all of my own artwork for the walls: Shadow Box filled with vintage Mickey Mouse Pez dispensers, framed print of Steamboat Willie and a framed print of another vintage Mickey Mouse (Printed off the internet and bought matting and frames at craft store). :goodvibes

:rotfl: I love that idea!!

I had no idea Target sold Mickey stuff.
I think I need that rug for my craft room. I just bought a super cool black futon, so that I can read in there. That rug would be totally cute!!

Thanks for enabling me. lol. :thumbsup2

I want to say the Target line came out earlier this year.
A few years ago, they had a vintage mickey bedset for kids. It's my favorite comforter. But I haven't seen anything since for bedrooms. (well besides clubhouse mickey, which isn't the same). But also check Home Depot, as they do partner with Disney to offer various things throughout the store.

I did a flounder bathroom for Kari when we were living together. We used a cheap colorful fish shower curtain. And I bought 6 sets of towels, all different bright happy colors. I found a Flounder and Ariel framed picture at Target one year at Christmas, and at the Post Office, I found another matted picture of Flounder and Ariel. Plus Kari had various little Flounder plastic toys that sat on the back of the toilet and around the sink counter. There wasn't a lot spent on Flounder, but the accents and the colors where what helped to bring you "under the sea".

As for what I've found at Home Depot for my Mickey bedroom...

Kari worked as a cashier for Home Depot when she first started, and she could look up inventory on a certain item through the computer. So she kept track of the lamps for the longest time. And finally it got to the point that were always 12 in stock. She finally got the Christmas coupon card (20% off), and went on a hunt through the store for them. Some one managed to loose the pallet that was stacked in a different department of them. So instead of 50$, she got it for 20$, because the system was starting to clearance them out.

This is actually the store model. Got it for 100$ (if we were still in Ft Lauderdale, the managers there probably would've given it for 20$). The first day they got the "disney doors" in, I told her "I want this door". So when they finally discontinued them, I got my door. It's Mickey on that side, with Pooh and Piglet on the other side picking flowers.

OMG  :worship: the door!!!

The day I got the door, Kari had the opening shift at work and I wasn't in till later in the day.
Since we only lived like 5mins away, she came home on her lunch break to show it to me. And then she hung it up for me while I was working. Nothing was ready to hang, so she had to scrape out the wood for the hinges, drill the holes for the door knob. And she picked out this great antique bronze finish for the knob.

I also have the target cloth mickey shower curtain w/ the hooks. I just recently added the white hand soap dish and mickey head soap pump. I decided on a plain black toothbrush holder. For my window curtain I used left over red fabric and made a valance and 2 lower tiers. On the bottom of all the curtains I used black rick rack across it. It came out really nice== even nicer was that I didn't have to spend any $$ on it bc I already had it. I got red rugs at Kohls on clearence.

my next goal is to find some hand towels on clearance - hoping for red and applique mickey heads on them.

I meant to look in Aug when we were at WDW for the accessories for the bathroom but we were having soo much fun. I totally forgot till we got home that I forgot to even look!

Target is now selling a clear plastic mickey shower curtain w/ hands on it (I think)

So, so awesome. I love it!!
