We are beginning to think about planning for a trip to WDW in April 2009. Our vacation will have to be the week prior to Easter, which I know is one of the busiest and most expensive times to go! However, I'm a teacher and this is when my spring break will be.

Do any of you WDW travel experts have any advice about booking the cheapest package? Are there any discounts at all at that busy time of the year? Is a package the best way to go if you want dining included? Is it cheaper to book room only? Dining plan only? We are AAA members, but is it easier/more reliable to book with a travel agent like Small World vacations? I'm confused and overwhelmed and hope someone can help!

TIA!

I have the exact same questions! Good luck with your trip! I've never been more confused than ever! I think the best thing for me is just to book through Disney with my code or use free dining. I just know that I want the best deal there is and plus I'm on a pretty tight budget! I wouldn't go through Small Worlds. The TA I've been talking to has been no help and her wording in the emails have been somewhat rude. The AAA person I went through was really helpful...the only reason why I'm not going through them is because I got a better code through Disney. Good luck!

We use AAA in NJ and are completey satisfied with our agent. We may be lucky that we've got an experienced Disney agent who knows to check for codes and try them for us, without us having to ask, per se.

? about booking through AAA agent. if you need to cancel a packaged booked through AAA is there a penalty?

I have used a travel agent with Small world for a couple of years now and I am completely satisfied. As with any company you will get the good people and the ones that aren't that great.

If you are looking for a package including the dining plan but still getting the AAA discount on your room portion you can ONLY book it through AAA. If you are looking for a room only with aaa discount then you can book it through any travel agent or through Disney directly

Personally I like my travel agent and since I travel for work often I can't always be around to check for discounts when they come out. Having an agent speciliazing in Disney is a great person to have in your corner because they know the ins and outs of how Disney works with their discounts

To the original poster the last couple of years there hasn't been any great discount over Easter break time so AAA discounts would be the way to go in my opinion at least you have something of a discount in case nothing else is released by Disney
