Disney Swap Part II: Animal Kingdom Sign-Ups

Pauline I need you to pick another theme. And WDWMom I need you to pick some type of theme ( that way we have a variety for the swap ).

Cyndi princess:

Hi WDWmom,

We like to have the same theme for both items so that they can be used on the same page if you want and will coordinate. I think Cyndi (hostess) prefers we select a theme that noone else has already taken, so look through the list and then make your pick (I know, I wanted to do Safari too, but somebody beat me to it!)

OK, I was totally confused, but now I am fine, I will take Dinorama as my themes for both :)

I've only spent 5 hours at Animal Kingdom so, I am not that familiar with the place. I'll probably sit this one out unless I can come up with an idea. Any ideas for me?

Tina

I'd like borders for group A and matted poem for group B, please. :)
Theme: Pangani Forest Exploration Trail

I would like to do frames(tree of life) in goup A and eyeletts in group B(I am not sure what is out there)

Some basic ideas for OurDog-

You could pull off almost anything "jungle" or "rainforest" or even alot of "zoo" ideas

one that might be fun is right when you enter there are all those tropical birds in the oasis- or the flights of wonder show-

Or you could do a dinosaur theme for the Dinosaur ride (as the land and the dig are taken)

Do something Asian themed for the Asia "land" ("Jewels" would be pretty)

something Train related for the train to the conservation station-

Anything bright and flashy with a jungle theme could work for the Jammin Jungle Parade

Another idea would be to do a Meeting Mickey/Minnie Safari one- As they do wear their safari gear-

Id do a google image search for DAK pics to get some ideas :)

I'll take photo mat (Group A) and paper piecing (Group B), and my theme will be Flights of Wonder.

Okay, Cyndi & DisneylandEmily you talked me into it. I'll take the borders for group A and the shaker for Group B and my theme is Asia. Hopefully, there aren't taken.

Thanks,
Tina

Thanks Emily. I loved the ideas. We haven't even started on the AK swap and I'm excited. We have bee thinking about getting annual passes next year for Disney ( may only do the cruise this year ) and I have promised the "kids" that if we do this we will make several small trips to the world. So I will be putting all of this stuff to good use .

Cyndi princess:

Im also excited- Im sure Ill come up with better ideas next week- I havent been to WDW since 01 (okay okay Jan 3 02)

but I'm at an impass- Do I wait to do my scrapbook for this trip until oh December when the last park will be done or do I just hope to get back to WDW soon (and use alot for my DL books? :) ) Yes I know life is tough :)

That and DAK is my 2nd favorite park :) -em

I am new to signing up for the swaps so let me know if I don't do this right.

I would like to take 2 photo mats for Group A: Discovery Island
and 2 Frames fo Group B: Discovery Island

By the way, could someone describe a shaker to me?

Welcome castlegazer . Unfortunetly the photo mats in group A have already been taken. What about eyelets ?

Cyndi princess:

Cyndi, I've changed my mind on the theme. I'd like to do Pocahontas and her forest friends if it hasn't been taken.

Thanks,
Tina

Thank you Tina - I totally get it now, and actually have made some - d'uh.

Cyndi, can you help this poor helpless soul understand providing shaped eyelets - I have seen a lot of different shapes to buy, but would this mean I had to make them? Am I clueless or what?

Castlegazer, lets see...for eyelets you just buy enough shaped eyelets that you can give each person 6 (bag them separately --1 bag of 6 per person in the swap)...on the others you would make enough frames for each person in the swap--hope that helps (example: 1 did paper piecing in the last swap so I sent 22 paper piecings of the same thing to the hostess and she divides them up with everyone else's items and then sends them out to us so we get a package back with one of everything in it). Hope that helps you a little bit!
