Disney store wishing tree question

Has anyone done this?? It was my understanding that you donated £5 to the Disney store for their Christmas Childrens charity and you could pick a teddy off of their wishing tree and the teddy or something similar would be given to a child at Christmas.
I took my 2 dd's in there to do this yesterday and was told you have to donate the full price of 16.99 per teddy?? I felt awful as I'd taken my 2 in to pick 1 each to donate but had to say they couldn't do it till the end of the week as hadn't budgeted the £16.99 x 2 before payday!! Did I just make the £5 bit up or have I read it some where??

Hi there

The Magical giving tree has a limited number of plushes that it donates to the store's chosen charity.

You pay a £5.00 donation and receive a thank you pack which contains a card and Mickey Mouse pin in it and you also receive a gift tag which you can write a message on for the child who will receive the plush.

It might be that your local store has sold out of the packs, maybe a call to them to ask about it or to guest relations will help you out.

we've still got them in the lakeside store. it is £5 to sponsor the toy to be given to a local kids charity

I know the stores had a limited number of plushes, so maybe that store had completed their allocation? I think the Trafford Centre one was completed last weekend too

My sister did this at our local shop this weekend, and last year we did too

I did it both last year and this year and always buy 3, one for each of the kids and one for myself.

It was still £5 last week and even though you can choose what teddies to give you don't have to, they can choose them for you. The pin and card is a nice souvenir though.

Ask a different cast member, maybe the one you spoke to got it wrong.
