Disney Store Gift Card for Disney $?

Can I redeem a Disney Store Gift Card for Disney Dollars at the store? I got a $15 card for signing up for the Disney Visa, and I don't really need anything from the store --and I just found out here that you can't get pins there.

I am getting 2 answers...

I bought several Disney Store gift cards on ebay.

3 weeks ago, redeemed $500 worth, bought park hoppers and $100 worth of DD.

1.5 weeks ago, bought $100 DD.

Yesterday, DH brought the final $100 to the DS to redeem - was told it could not be done by the manager.

I am trying another DS today, I will reply later.

If that doesn't work, do I bring in my receipt, to show it had been done, or not, so as not to get the CM in trouble.

I have some gift cards I'd like to redeem for Disney Dollars as well. I've been dreading trying to do it though, because it all seems to depend on who is working that day. There are two Disney Stores in my area and both are a good 45 minute drive or more. I really hate to go just to have them say no!

I'm not sure about Disney Dollars but I was able to use my gc towards the cost of my park hoppers. Call the store and ask for the manager, get a name! Good luck!

I was able to use a DS Gift card to buy DD before our trip in December and it was the manager who waited on me...no questions or hassels. I was a little worried since I had read on prior occassions (on the DIS boards) that quite a few people were told they could NOT use the gift cards.

I read all the fine print on the back of the actual card and the paper it came with and there was NOTHING stated on there that said gift cards could NOT be used to buy Disney $$.

This is a little off-topic...but can you really buy gift cards on ebay? I'd just be worried that I'd buy an "empty" card... any advice for an ebay newbie?

Hmmm...I'm not sure. I haven't seen gift cards on ebay, but then I wasn't looking for them either. I got mine by cashing in mypoints for webbies, then using the webbies for disney store gc's.

Just got back from the DS and redeemed two $15 gift cards for Disney Dollars. The CM read the back of the gift card and it only said it could not be redeemed for another gift card.

I have bought Disney Store ift certs several times on ebay the last few months. I ONLY buy if I can use a credit card via paypal, so if there is a probem I have some protection. I have gotten a total of $700 in gc for $610 (I think? About right!).

I did redeem my last bunch last night, same store as my DH went to, with no question. I wish they were consistant!

Went to the Disney Store on Dec. 27th to redeem gift cards for disney dollars. Was told no by the manager on duty even though I have done this many times before. Went back on Dec. 30th and was told by the store manager that they just updated their registers and she didn't think it would work but she would try. Well it worked and I left with my disney dollars. I think I will keep my receipt to have when I redeem more gift cards.

Where on ebay did you find these cards? All I am pulling up is used collectable cards, (no money on them). I would really like to know, this could probably save us some money!!

Luck of the draw! Just keep looking. One tip - don't type in "store" just disney - try card, certificate, credit, gift, etc.
