Disney Store.com carrying theme park items!

Visited www.treasurekingdom.com and ordered gifts for the family to announce I booked our September FD at POR for a week.

Payment through Google Checkout, fast and easy and even was packaged with Disney Park bags.

Pretty cool and good selection.

Bet they are worried the DisneyStore is doing it too now.

well, if they can survive against a much more robust competitor in laughingplacestore.com, i doubt disney will make too much of a dent.

disney will probably just make more from having a much larger fanbase they can make aware of their presence

as mentioned earlier, disney always sold its theme park merchandise over the phone at park prices. it just wasn't as highly publicized (and couldn't do some things that disneyparks.com/store can do)

Thank you for sharing this. It will come in very handy for me. I want to put a gift basket together for our son and it will be great to be able to buy some of these things ahead of time and have everything ready before we get to our resort. :thumbsup2

I was very excited about this b/c DH really wants a pair of ears & I wanted to surprise him before we go. However, I don't like the block font that is available online. You can still get them in cursive in the parks, right?

Are the prices the same as you'd find in the parks? I was thinking that castle playset was only $60.00 last year, or maybe I was dreaming :rotfl:

Thats great and all but thats one of the reasons why I love going to WDW is picking up the items that you can only get there at the parks or downtown disney. We went in Oct of last year and picked up stocking stuffers for DD

I ordered two Precious Moments figurines.
I didn't want to buy them at the Parks and have them break in my luggage so this was a pleasant surprise!!!

i'm pretty sure nobody will object to any of you still going to WDW and buying things.

I do! I'd rather you all stay home & buy your merchandise online so that it's not as crowded when I get there.

I may be in the minority here, but I am totally annoyed that you can buy this stuff online now! That was part of the magic for me. Going to WDW and picking out our autograph books, ears and other stuff. Now every time I go on, they have pics of this stuff and it will be no surprise on our next trip. Idk, buying stuff at the park that you couldn't get anywhere else was part of the magic for me :( (not that I don't want other people to get a shot at the stuff)

I guess I'm in the minority with you! It makes it more special when you go to the parks and see all new merchandise. It's a nice surprise. Despite the fact that there were always ways to order theme park merchandise once I got home, it was always kind of difficult because I had to describe the item I wanted and such. This online Disney theme park merchandise access is too easy! How is it park only merchandise anymore? To some extent, I can see it being very helpful, but at the same time I'm kind of blehhh with the idea.
:goodvibes

Have you seen the merchandise they are selling? Because it's very little things compared to what you find in the parks. I'm a little disapointed.

I am excited to get the autograph books and Mickey ears ahead of time for our trip. I am also excited to see what is available exclusively in the parks!!

Yep, while I like the idea of theme park toys being online (my kids are addicted and we are driving 2 hrs way too frequently for new toys - drove down today and got the monorail set, Cinderella's castle, Contemporary, and Main St. Fire truck - along with some Handy Mandy toy that will drive me nuts LOL), the idea of the souvenier type stuff being online bugs me. Autograph books, ears, photo albums, etc.. should be left to the actual stores at Disney (and phone orders.)

ooohhh but on a side note, I clicked over to the baby stuff (I haven't been on their site in about 2-3 weeks) and saw an awesome Disney stroller!!! "Deluxe Mickey Mouse Stroller-Black" now if only it came in a double or triple seater!!! LOL

I completely agree with everything you just said! and I am glad you got what I was trying to say. Honestly I wasn't trying to be snarky with my original comment.

I have to agree as well. The only reason to buy this stuff in the first place is because the World is the only place you can get it. I don't mind them selling some things online, but the ears?? It seems a shame these aren't kept strictly in the parks. Oh well, I guess that's progress for you. And it won't stop me from spending those $$ while there anyway.:rotfl:

I was excited to see pictures of some of the things I haven't seen since I was at Disney last! I think that the people @ Disney are very creative marketers & will continue to have an element of surprise there for us when we arrive at the parks! They would have to!

Ahhh, just went to the site and, no worries. There are a few things there people can use either before the trip or buy later so they don't have to carry them. But there isn't nearly enough there to make a dent in my shopping at World. But, then again, they would be hard pressed to do that anyway. Just ask the DH!:scared1:
