Disney Store.com carrying theme park items!

That's great! I was wanting to put together a gift basket for my kids to give them when we got there and I was really wanting things like the autograph book and hat in there already!
Thanks for sharing.

I don't find this to be so great. It takes away from shopping at the parks. It's nice to be on vacation and buy things that can only be purchased at Walt Disney World for myself and for my friends and family. I find it to be strange and some what sad!

If your looking for ears, (grad ears too!) they are now selling them online not a ton of stuff but the monorail set and personalized ears and autograph books and pens, have fun shopping :cool1:

actually, there's a lot more than that. you have to look at the options on the left side. there's more toys, collectibles, housewares, scrapbooking stuff and more.

I may be in the minority here, but I am totally annoyed that you can buy this stuff online now! That was part of the magic for me. Going to WDW and picking out our autograph books, ears and other stuff. Now every time I go on, they have pics of this stuff and it will be no surprise on our next trip. Idk, buying stuff at the park that you couldn't get anywhere else was part of the magic for me :( (not that I don't want other people to get a shot at the stuff)

Thanks! Anything that helps to avoid standing in another line while on vacation is a huge plus, imo!

This is great...there are some things that you want to buy pre-trip so you can wear them @ the parks...just another way that people can get excited about their vacation.

There will always be stuff that you can't find online, so it doesn't take away from shopping @ the parks for me.

WDW (and Disneyland) have offered telephone shopping for decades for folks who decide to purchase that special souvenir after they get home. Online ordering is simply the next logical step.

Disneyland DelivEARS: 1-800-362-4533

WDW Merchandise Mail Order: 407-363-6200

Note that the operators will do their best to hunt down the item you have in mind, but catalogs aren't available. Shipping fees will apply.

although mail order couldn't embroider ears before. you had no choice but to go to a proxy shopper then.

you also had to deal with extravagant shipping prices. i'm assuming disneyshopping isn't using the theme park's pricing schedule for shipping.

I'm well aware of that. That said, ordering over the phone did not allow me to see what I was purchasing. It left me with the element of surprise. Now if I want I can see what the photo album I was going to buy this September looks like, and I'm sad about that. But like I said, I may in the minority and these are just MY feelings.

I have to agree, the things you could buy only in the parks made them more special IMHO. But I'm not surprised they are putting stuff on line now. Everything is getting more generic. Most stuff has the Disneyland/Disney World logo now...used to be things were specific to Disneyland and Disney World and most of the shops carry all the same stuff. Remember when every shop you went to carried it's own unique items? They have been homogenizing the merchadise for awhile now, I think it's a shame.

The only thing I think they should put on the website is snowglobes. Since they are so hard to transport now and too scary to pack in your luggage, it would be nice to be able to order the park ones on-line.

I completely agree with everything you just said! and I am glad you got what I was trying to say. Honestly I wasn't trying to be snarky with my original comment.

theme park merchandise has had both resorts logos for years. unless it's specific to the park in general (i.e., an Epcot item doesn't feature the Disneyland logo). tshirts are another example, although as you can see on the disneyshopping.com site, they often sell the same shirt at both resorts and just change the resort name.

Yes they have had both logos for quite some time, but in the past you were able to buy park specific items. Even in 2005 I was able to buy items that only had the wdw logo on it. But last year almost everything said wdw and dl on it. Anywho, it is what it is.

I am happy they did this. We were looking to get some of these items for our family 1st trip to Disney. I just held off b/c the places that sold this stuff outside of the park wanted a lot more than what Disney wants for them. I decided against buying them until we got there (even though I had wanted them to give a gift bag to neice and nephews).

I think this is great. B?C now people can buy over time if they want to suprise people about Disney trips!!!

Yes I got the email this morning. So far I wasn't impressed with the merchandise offered. Hope they add more.

the offerings are very limited so i dont think it will take away from the shopping experience of what you can find in the world... i hope they add a little bit more bc it will be nice to be able to get some things that you can only find in the parks from being in the comfort of my home..since i cant get to disney anytime i want :rotfl2: but i still hope they keep some things in the parks only
...yes i know i just created my own double standard for the site and im okay with it hahaha

I wish there was a way to purchase some of the park exclusive cds or books. I won't pay double on some other sites but I only have so much I can spend while I'm in the parks.
