We are starting our 2 week stay at CBR next week, very excited to be back there! Our last 2 trips were at POP and we loved them but are looking forward to being at a moderate again. On one of the days we are planning on driving to Disney Springs for the morning and lunch and then taking the bus to MK for late afternoon and the evening, then busing back to Disney Springs and driving to our resort. I have a few questions about this as I have never driven to Disney Springs before nor have I taken a bus from there to a Park. I also have not been to Disney Springs since the new remodel, it was Downtown Disney and had construction fences up everywhere last time we went.

1. Where are the buses located that would take us from Disney Springs to MK?

2. Where would be the best place to park at Disney Springs so that at night we would have the shortest walk from the bus back to our car? We plan on walking all around Disney Springs that morning and afternoon so we don't care about proximity to where we end up eating lunch.

Thanks for any help, DISBoards rock! I have been reading tons of threads this summer and am learning a lot. I have been to Disney so much that I am the "expert" in my family and friends but there is soooo much to learn and do I feel like its a whole new experience every time we go!

There are no buses from Disney Springs to MK, you have to get one from a resort or another park.

As a Disney Resort Guest, you can park for free at the theme parks. As for parking at Disney Springs, there are 2 garages and the bus depot is located between them.

There is no direct Disney transportation between the Theme Parks and Disney Springs. You could walk (or monorail) to the Contemporary to catch a Disney Springs bus.

Well thanks for the quick responses!
Did there used to be transportation between Downtown Disney and the parks? I thought I remembered that from our Honeymoon.
We also have annual passes so I know I can park for free at the theme parks all the time, I just hate parking at Magic Kingdom. I actually prefer driving myself to Animal Kingdom over taking resort buses.

hakepb, thanks for the link for transportation routes, very helpful!
We never did much Downtown Disney, except on our honeymoon when we were at Saratoga Springs and we could take the boat over.

If DTD to Park transportation used to exist, it was a very long time ago and then it got abused by freeloaders parking at DTD instead of paying at parks.

(2 years ago there was a trial evening AK to DTD bus route to encourage split AK and DTD days)

Do yourself a favor and budget for a taxi for this.

If you didn't want to get a taxi like mom2rtk suggested, you should take a bus to DS, then a bus to Contemporary and walk to MK. The way back you can take a bus to SSR, get off at Congress Park and walk to DS.

If you don't want to drive from DS to MK, then my advice is leave your car at your resort. Take the bus from your resort to DS, the bus to CR and walk to MK. At the end of the night, bus directly back to your resort. The only thing faster will be Uber or taxi.

We do what others have suggested, bus to the Comtemporary and walk over to MK. We have an unhealthy obsession with Earl of Sandwich :D

Used it.

Loved it.

It was only one way and I think it was any time after 2 pm (?). When AK got too hot, we bussed to DTD. I wish they'd put that route back in play. But I totally understand not doing round trips.

I think this is what we will do. We were actually planning on eating at the Earl of Sandwich. We've been meaning to try it for years but for one reason or another we have never eaten there.

Thanks!

Just to throw this in - I would take whichever bus comes first: CR, Poly or GF. From CR, you can walk. From Poly or GF, it's just a short monorail ride away.
