Thank you. Ugh, yeah, waste disposal bags, necessary, but ugh, nothing like peeing or pooping with your brand new friends sitting next to you watching. Lol.
I read on Twitter a single report of compensation...4day Parkhoppers for 4 and $200 Disney Gift Card.
Personally, I might be more prone to forgive them if they also threw in a limited edition pin or button.
This is what I expect - it will be down for at least WEEKS. Having one incident like this is bad enough - but if they reopen and it were to happen again, then they are looking at a situation where no one may ever trust the skyliner again. They need to determine what went wrong and be certain they've corrected it along the entire route. I would expect some downtime and then some more testing time. We are going in three weeks and would be surprised if it is back up and running by then.
That's rather irrational in my opinion. But if people have that fear then of course there is no requirement to ride.
We don’t go until next August and I’m already rethinking it. Discounts could come out in January like last year so I need to keep following the Skyliner news and figure out where we’re going to stay.Rethinking my February choice in Pop big time now, thank God we are doing only 2 park days and heading to Universal for other 4,

The other thread is making my head explode. My small children would be traumatized, my whole vacation should be free, blah blah blah.
I have two small children. I can not possibly imagine why they would be traumatized as long as the parents remained calm. These things are tiny, it’s not like the rip ride rocket thing where people were strapped into a coaster unable to move. You could stretch your legs, wiggle etc.
Sometimes I think people on the dis never actually leave their houses in real life.
On our August trip we were on a Disney bus from the WL to DHS for rope drop. We were rather early and my family was the only one on the bus. About half way there, some sensor started going off and the driver had to pull over. We waited 45 minutes stuck in the metal box, uhhh bus, until a new one came for us. No one gave me anything. Not even a FP.
2 weeks ago DH and I were flying home from a weekend away. We all boarded the plane, then they announced someone had left a yellow roll aboard without a gate check tag on the jet way. They put it on the plane, but please identify who’s it is. No one claimed it. Now we have an unidentified bag on our plane. We sat at the gate, fully boarded unable to move around for over 2 hours while the police came and took the bag off the plane, complete with bomb sniffing dog etc. once again, no compensation, nothing.
Things happen everywhere. I’m not a Disney apologist by any means, but the standard people hold Disney to- because the children!- is so unrealistic. If your children are so like to be traumatized that this will harm them for life, maybe you should spend your disney vacation money on some therapy instead.
Right? And this wasn’t like a thunderstorm or something. Because of the police presence they didn’t want us getting up and moving around much. So we were really just stuck there. It was over 2 hours for the situation to be resolved, then we had to wait for a runway, redo all the preflight check stuff they do. All told we were 3 hours late getting home.Being trapped on the runway is the worst! Time ticking away knowing even after it’s done you’ve got to sit on the plane for the length of your flight. I’ve never gotten compensation from an airline for that.
Do the Skyliner cabins sway when stopped?
This honestly doesn’t surprise me. Every time we came Into the Riviera station... my husband and I would comment that we were “coming in hot.” That one seemed to come in a lot faster than the other stations.
Perhaps we should all just take the high road here and not be overly critical of people. I haven’t voiced an opinion on the DIS on this but I hope I wouldn’t be judged too harshly for stating this (which I shared in a private Disney group of internet friends):The other thread is making my head explode. And I can understand that. But the thread is filled with people who have never even seen or ridden this speculating on things. My wife’s issues with irrational anxiety in some isolated incidents has taught me that even the simplest issues can turn into traumatic experiences. And my daughters have responded in opposite ways to that so I can see that even within our own family it can affect children in dramatically differently ways.
I could unfortunately see an event line this having the potential to be a trip ruiner for us. Let’s just try to be respectful of folks![]()

I have things that cause me anxiety too. CBT is a very wonderful and powerful tool (cognitive behavior therapy not cbd oil which most people think I’m talking about these days) I would highly suggest your wife consider it is she has not tried it in the past.
I do not feel I was being rude or disrespectful of people. I’m in your other private group too. But the hyperbole that nothing Ever goes wrong at Disney and when it does everyone should get a free trip or sue drives me insane.
Thanks for trying to help but I respectfully decline your internet diagnosis. We are capable of handling ourselves over hereAnd I can understand that. I feel the same way. I have stayed at Pop multiple times and only had the buses available. I don’t know anything different there. I got a good rate for my stay in December (booked it a long time ago) so I really wouldn’t get a better rate at All Star (and since my dates overlap a little with Pop Warner, I probably wouldn’t want to stay at All Star at that time anyway). If it’s up and running, I will ride it, but I will do two things. I will make a last bathroom stop before getting in line no matter what and I will get a bottle of water to take on board.I'm staying at Pop next month and have no intention of switching over this. There are other modes of transportation.
