Disney Skyliner (Gondola Transportation System) Read Post 1 Now Open!

You seem to be really struggling with this, Piotr...

...luckily you ain't building it:duck:

Lucky for everyone. I'm the wrong kind of engineer. My experience is riding in them!

For all the discussion, I am not sure that I will ever even use it. Unlikely to stay at Pop or AOA, CBR maybe, but now that we are DVC less likely to do that. The CBR DVC tower might stay at once to try it out, but I don't think it would happen often. To me it's just another form of transportation, no better or worse than a bus.

I think you need to look deeper into the weeds...

This is really about connecting the food and wine booths and force awakens: ride it!!! More efficiently...that's the hook. And once that is done...large price increases and new timeshare blocks.

I bet you will use it more than any of us think right now.

Just to be clear...I think it will work.

I just think it will have to be a unique design and probably more staffed than Disney would like and maybe realizes to be efficient...that's all.
I have got to believe that they have discussed this in great detail. Look how long we have been talking about it. As a PP stated Disney has generally done a good job with ADA and such and I can't help but believe that they have a plan.

The iger administration has worn out its benefit of the doubt.

Don't disagree but when it comes to safety and security issues they seem to take the approach of liability avoidance as a cost center rather than straight profit. How much did a wayward alligator cost them when it wasn't "technically " not their fault. A system, or ride for that matter, that they designed and built that causes bodily harm could potentially be quite expensive.

I'm in the boat that is still skeptical if this is being done to be a backbone major transport system...or a gimmick to justify timeshares where they don't belong...we shall see.

I think I see both but we shall see.

Really? I'll be riding it just because it is there.... I jump monorails to get to Epcot when we stay at Bay lake.... what is the difference? Once Star wars is open there will be a reason to go to HS again...Walk, boat, gondola.... whatever... and you know, the stop in the middle is just another excuse to grab anther drink at somewhere new.....

You...me...and most everyone around here.

I think Pete is riding on a river in Egypt right now...

Sounds like a plan to me. And for the most part it doesn't need 180 days prep.

You know-- I just look for the things that are new and different...I will stay at the new dvc...I will adventure into the new (or newly available to me) lounges and restaurants, because of the gondolas, because I have done it all and just want anything new. I will like it because I will be on vacation and i will be buzzed. And it will be 2 hours from my home.

I'm right with you on this albeit a little further away. How about gondola emblazoned mugs with free refills at each stop. Put a chip in the them for all I care.

Yes but currently the mugs don't refill with anything I am interested in consuming... and they could chip my hand if it made it easier.

Just wonder how long the wait will be on these? Think I'll just stick with the buses.
