Disney Riviera Resort

Yeah I knew immediately direct was out of my ability. I got a bit of an unfortunate windfall and looked closer at it again once I heard about resale on here. It seemed like a good fit, next up will be the small direct contract. I was keen to buy it but they didn't have any at Bay Lake in the right use year when I called. I told them they could contact me whenever they did, but I'm still considering adding at a different resort if I find one I like a whole lot.
I see... so you'd potentially be in the DRR market, or really looking to buy at something in place?

I wasn't thinking much of Copper Creek, but @Madonna3 painted an awesome picture a few pages back. But yeah... probably not a huge chance of resale there this early...

Ah sorry, I thought you meant new. But still, lookin pretty good.

We did 80 point contracts, believe we paid $94 new, but we did get the founding tile.

Right...so now get an offer for $188 a point for that...more than retail at the poly...and I'll beat it...

...fly little bird!

Potentially, but it would really have to be terrific. I would've bought 25 or 30 at Copper Creek but those dues were too high to start in my mind. I wanted to wait and see what happens with these property taxes before I decide further.

Does anyone understand the logistics of how these gondolas could work in practice?

If there was the possibility of an "express" of sorts for DRR guests to go to Epcot and/or DHS, THAT strikes me as something of value IF they are efficient.

But I have ZERO idea how these things are built/function...

Good question and we don't know...

It appears there will be 5-6 drop points on an "L" shaped circuit...who knows?

Hmmm... because express gondola (with A/C or similar-awesome-cooling :D) to two parks would sound like something exclusive that you could really market, and that my guess is many would value. Will be watching that closely...

That's not gonna cut it for this dvc...

First...it's only 300 units...so they wouldn't do it.

Second...you don't eat and sleep in the gondola...it's just a more convenient option than the bus.

No doubt, I have said many times BLT direct (resales have been a no brainer) was my worst "financial" gain-yet well worth every penny.

But now it's already not only worth more than the original DIRECT purchase, but up by about 8 to 10 years of dues as well.

Yes, but I avoid buses like the plague while on vacation. This would be worth money to me. Again -- only if very efficient, etc. Question is how many people would pay more for it, and how much more -- the eternal business question.

And that alone wouldn't cut it. I'd need the other stuff I mentioned: onsite versions of what other DVCs get at their connected deluxes. PLUS the "express" gondola service. I'm greedy. :)

And back full circle...when's the last time they built those from scratch at a dvc? Hint: only happened twice in wdw

No I said double on contracts, resale in particular which I answered Madonna. BLT is only up 60%.

Here you go:

Wait wait wait? For what? What contracts are now worth $80k cause I have a GF and a Poly contract that I would happily list for double what I paid, especially Poly.

We go through every so often. Many members (Andrew and I for example) picked up a lot contracts (not sure how many Andrew did) when they were in the $40 to $60 range.

Ok that's different. Those were being sold half of their going resale rate. You can't buy a Copper Creek contract right now and turn around and sell it for double. You can even sell a Poly contract right now for double. If anything, contracts LOSE their initial value. I have yet to see one that has retained any value.

Ok...give me an offer for $80 on your $40...or $120 on your $60...and I'll beat it...gladly.

Cash.

$40,000 x2 = $80,000
In layman terms...double.

Like you and Roxyfire-I won't sell any right now. Going up too fast.

The answer is probably not

The answer to Trivia is:
1. Old key west
2. Boardwalk

Boardwalk was a mixed use and old key west is "lacking" by today's standards.
Hmmm... ... but Boardwalk is a success, no? Are we so sure they wouldn't repeat? Not as elaborate as everything at Boardwalk -- I don't think that's necessary...
