I searched and didn't find this...I am new to the Disney Rewards visa and I heard from a friend that you can get a free photo at Epcot if you show your Disney Visa at the appropriate photo spot. I saw this also in the program details but didn't give much info. Has anyone done this?:confused3

I guess my questions are...
1) Is is thru photopass and you order a photo or do you get it that day?
2) Is it in a different area than the character greetings?
3) We will be visiting Epcot 2x during our vaca, is the special for once per day or once per vacation package?
4) I'm guessing the character is t.b.d. if you have done it what character did you get your photo with?

Thanks!
:goodvibes

1) That part I can't remember. I know that we picked up our picture right across from Space Ship Earth and got it the same day.

2) Yes, it is a totally seperate area from the general character greeting areas

3) I'm pretty sure you can get one picture per day.

4) We had Goofy and Minnie in ours.

1) They put it on the photopass card and you can p/u the picture at the photo shop in Epcot near Spaceship Earth once the photos show up on the card. Some of the castmembers will let you use the coupon you get for ANY picture on your photopass card and not just the one taken in the special area. They aren't supposed to do that, but if you get lucky you dont even have to choose the visa meet 'n' greet photo.

2) It's a serperate area behind a curtin in Innovations (West - I think)

3) -- it's one free pic per Card # per day. So, if you and your spouse each have different cards, you can actually get two pics for free each day.

4) -- we've had 2 when we went last summer both times we went. One was Goofy/Minnie and the other was Pluto / Mickey. In years past, we've had 3 or maybe even all of the "big 4" there.

1. It's a seperate visa only meet and greet that happens from 1:30-4:30p in innovations It was located accross from Where's the fire thingie and around corner from segway training sight.
2. It's one free pic/day/ card so since Friend and I both have cards we can get 2 photos.
3. The charcters vary but in all the times I've done it it's been fab 5 crew ( Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto) Never heard of Donald being there. You will not know who u get until u walk in room unless you can get someone coming out to tell u and than u hope they don't change. I think we have always had at least 2 and lots of times 3 characters.

Wow, thanks for the great info! :yay:
I didn't realize I had such a big timeframe window. I was thinking 1:30 to 2:30 or something like that. Thank you for the help!

Last year I knew about this but wasn't really planning for it. We went into Innoventions and I literally just saw a short line and got on. Our photo turned out great, it was on our PP and we got a print copy (5x7) from the shop over by Spaceship Earth. It was Mickey and Goofy that day. It's a really nice perk!

:thumbsup2 Cool! A short line is a perk by itself!:lmao:

we have never waited more than 2 families! the pics are the best! It's nice because we had the whole family in them with all the fav characters. We were not rushed at all-maybe spent 10 minutes there since we had no one behind us!Mickey was high-fiving and playing with my 5yr old. They all hugged the kids.Got a group pic and then other pics with kids and certain characters. They will also take pics with your camera-so have it out!!Pic up a printed pic later at the photoshop near Spaceship Earth. Can do this each visit:thumbsup2
We had Mickey,Pluto,Goofy,Minnie

your first questions have been answered pretty well.

the line is not always short. I go in the summer and have had to wait anywere from 15 minutes to about 45.

The characters were 1) Mickey, minnie, goofy
2)Minnie, Goofy
and the last time just Goofy.

As you enter epcot and pass the big ball, it will be the innoventions on the left side. Look for the fire truck because it is right behind there. You get one free picture per day per credit card. I have three so I get three photos. You can pick up the photos anytime that day. You never know what characters are there and the person standing there won't tell you. The last few times we went it was only goofy and minnie. Have your camera ready as well because the cm will take some pictures with your camera if you ask. It is between 1:30 to 4:30 every day.

Also as a caution, if you have young children, watch what exit you leave from because if you go to the exit where the passageway is for the big fountain in the middle of epcot to get to soarin and figment, you will pass the major character greeting place and your child might see the same characters that you just saw, thereby asking some questions you don't want to have to answer.

Another thing to remember is that you can get lots of very nice pics with your own camera while in there and we even had the photopass photographer ask us if we wanted a picture of the whole family taken with our camera.

The lines always seem to be longest early in the time frame and shortest near the end of it. We usually elect not to wait when there is a long line.

One thing, don't do it right before you plan to leave the park. You HAVE to pick it up at the photo store in EPCOT and it can sometimes take an hour or two for it to show up in the system there.

We had Mickey, Minnie and Goofy in ours!

We did the Disney Rewards Photo in 2009 and it was a big disapointment for us. I thought this was a VIP reward. Instead we stood in line a long time to get the photo taken - probably an hour. Then, we wanted the photo to take home so we went to the photo printing at MK on our last day and stood in line over an hour before we gave up. When we got home we lost the photo pass and never got the picture. That was two valueable hours lost on a short vacation. Huge waste of time for us.
