Disney sent me new Magic Bands for my Annual Passes a few months back...and the discount cards had some other last name on them! I called them and they said they would send me a new one... I waited for 2 months and received nothing!

I called again today and they said they do not send out new discount cards. I told them that this was not my last name and it was their mistake, but they still refused to send me anything else. They told me I have to go to guest relations and have them print up old Annual Passes, so I can receive the discounts... When I called back, I received the exact same answer from the next Cast Member! They also told me that when I renew, I have to wait til I use my bands at the parks before I can customize new ones!!! My next trip is my honeymoon in February and this is extremely unacceptable. I'm going down just once, but for 10 days! So what is the use of new Magic Bands AFTER my trip??? I'm not a local! I do not need to be dealing with all these ridiculous problems on my honeymoon b/c THEY messed up! :headache:

I very rarely come on here to complain about WDW guest services...but I feel like this is something that can be SO SIMPLY resolved..and they have zero interest in treating their guests like....well, guests...

Mine had the wrong expiration date and when I called they said the same thing to me (use my AP tickets - the green character one) but to my surprise a new discount card was sent anyway. I'm not sure if it was a couple months though I think it was more like one month maybe 6 weeks.

You got the bands for your APs, right?

Why are you interested in new ones?

And are we sure they will be sending out new AP bands every time we renew?

I would just wait to get your card until you get there. Or try again. Never know what the next CM will say.

My expire date was off by one day and I didn't even notice until they sent me a replacement one in the mail (I'd say 2-3 weeks a part from the initial one)l. A last name to me would be a bigger problem but hopefully they send you a new one by surprise. :confused3

I have to renew in September. The CM said that if I renew, I still will not be sent a new discount card until AFTER I use the MagicBands at the park. Both of the CMs I spoke to said "we do not send out new discount cards" And when I asked "Even if you made a mistake?" both CMs said a variation of "you can use your old green AP card for discounts." But the green card will be expired, so I won't be able to use it! I'm gonna call again tonight, and ask to speak to a supervisor.

Is there a reason you need the discount card before your first park day? Because if not, I would just let it go and get the new card when you arrive.

Disney sent me my AP Magic Band with accompanying discount card. Only issue was they must have processed the band/card before I renewed and the discount card had my old expiration date.

I had to activate the renewed AP at a guest relations window before entering my first park on my May trip, they very easily printed me a new discount card right then and there. Easy peasy.

The green card will be renewed as well. The green card and Magicbands are essentially the same thing; just a link back to the information on your My Disney Experience account. If the green card has an expiration date on it, just stop by Guest Relations at some point and they'll get you a new one.

I never take the discount card, but instead use the old green card (that expired last Nov.) It works fine.

How about this nonsense?

Tweens and teenagers have adult AP's and every time I sent mine with money and their discount cards to shop they were asked for ID. Am I supposed to send them to the parks with their passports?

Just use your AP ticket for discounts, that's what we always do - even though we now have the discount cards, I still planned to use my AP as I figured I would probably have to carry that with me anyway.

Unsure if your from the us but most states have 16 as a driving age where they get photo id. I would assume it's a rule to thwart discount card passing and that teens under 14 can't even enter the park alone.

Also in Wisconsin you can get photo ids when they are younger as well just as an example?

Perhaps it depends on how old they look as my son, who was 10 on our last visit, was never asked.

I am sure you want everything perfect for your wedding and honeymoon, but this is a real easy fix once you are there. Like a PP asked "is there any reason you need the discount card prior to arriving in WDW? If not then it really shold be a non issue Good Luck and Congrats

That was my experience, as well as my dh's. I didn't even notice the wrong date, until I received a new card.

I've always been asked for ID when using an AP discount... and I'm 62... I must look suspicious! :lmao:

Sounds more like they are asking for ID from anyone who looks old enough that they could reasonably be expected to have it.

Mine had the wrong expiration date. It was only off by one day so I didn't care. I never called or anything. New cards just showed up in the mail one day

Actually kids age 11 are allowed to be in the parks unsupervised per Disney. And my 14 and 16 year old use their discount all the time, and have only once been asked about id. She said she didn't have an id as she was 14, and they sent the discount through.
