Disney redemption rewards and Magic Bands

We are are going to AKL in October and we will have some Disney gift cards our kids got for Christmas plus a redemption rewards card from our Disney Chase card. I don't want to carry them with us. Can we add them to the Magicbands?

You cannot apply funds to a Magic Band but you can add them to the account to which the bands are tied. We always charge everything to the room on our stay so I take my rewards card to the front desk and ask them to apply the entire card balance to my account. That way I use it up in one transaction and don't have to keep track of the rewards card balance as I use it.

You can also apply the gift card balances to the room account but if you give your kids charging privileges I don't know if you can set up a spending limit on their bands.

You can do it at the beginning or end of the week. I've always done it by noon on our last day just to make sure it hits before the system closes out.

Depends on how much you charge to your room. The limit you can charge before they process it to your CC is based on room category.

Charging limits:
Values: $500
Moderates: $1000
Deluxe & Deluxe Villas (DVC): $1500

Tickets charged to your room will be processed to the CC on file almost immediately.

I always apply any gift cards to the room account while I'm checking in. Just one less thing to worry about.
