Disney Recipe Swap and Recipe Dividers

I've never done a recipe swap on these boards. Could you fill me in on the details for requirements?

Also, would this be recipes actually from Disney? I'd love the rice pudding from Akershus!

A disney recipe swap was my first swap. It was a really fun way to start.

Sounds like we should just do it like a recipe then with a tab and if we want to make it more sturdy, we can make our own reinforcement.

Do we want to have the tab connected and everyone would do a tab in a certain location, like appetizers the tab might be in the top quarter of the page and main dishes might be the bottom quarter of the page. I think we would need to set up an order so the tabs wouldn't be right behind each other. Or do we want to have the tabs be separate so everyone can put their recipe categories in any order they want? I hope that makes sense.

I think seperate would work the best. Then everyone can do their own thing.

I think seperate would be best. I was figuring on putting the tab on the outside of my page protector so I could easily turn to the recipes I wanted.

Rebecca

I was going to add the tab to the pp as well, so i think separate. As well as starters etc. are you going to have kids and/or holidays in the non-Disney, or put them in with the course?

I think we could have kids and holidays in the non-Disney dividers. This is our 2nd seasonal and holiday recipe swap, so I know some of us have enough recipes to put in those categories. We also did a cookie exchange category last year. I suppose they could all go into the holiday category, or a desserts, but maybe someone wants a separate one for it.

Maybe we should start a running list of what everyone wants for dividers.
From some Disney cookbooks:

Beverages
Appetizers
Soups
Breads
Salads
Eggs and Cheese
Seafood
Poultry
Meats
Vegetables
Desserts
Sauces

We could combine some categories so the categories might look more like:

Appetizers
Beverages
Breads and Breakfast (taking the place of the eggs and cheese, I saw this idea in another cookbook)
Soups, Salads, and Sides
Main Dishes
Desserts
Miscellaneous

That would give us 7 dividers, and 7 people in a group I guess.

The non-Disney could be the same except possibly adding in the Kids, Holiday, and maybe Cookie Exchange. In one of the fall exchanges, there was a heritage group and a family favorites group too. Those could be dividers if everyone wanted them. We could do sign ups for the most basic categories, then as more people want to do it, we could give them the extra categories.

Let me know what you think!

I think this looks great!:thumbsup2
Since the heritage/favorites fell into all these catagories, I don't think they need their own dividers, just my opinion.:)

The only one that I would be really interested in outside of the short list would be cookie exchange.

These look great! I thinnk we need to combine as you've suggested, as we may not have something for very category otherwise, and it will take up more room in the books. ;-)

Or if you want to have smaller groups you could have one for appetisers, mains, desserts, beverages and one for breads and breakfasts, soups salads and sides, miscellaneous (and possible Bakery?). You could then have multiple smaller groups to accomodate demand as required.

just my 4d :goodvibes:

Perfect idea for the next recipe swap, stuff to fill in our empty dividers.:thumbsup2

I have a question.
I did one of the prior recipe swaps and I was able to find a 3 ring binder for my pages but not page protectors. Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to get them or offer an idea.
Thank you.

Mmm, foooood. I think I may have to join in this one. I only have 2 sets of cards so far and that's not nearly enough.

I think that I would like to try this one out .. I love cookbooks and haven't done a swap in awhile so this seems like a good one to do !!

I've done this type of swap twice and had a blast and think I actually produced some pretty good stuff(I don't say that very often) I'm looking forward to giving it another shot I just have to remember to watch for the sign ups!!!

Oh heck yeah Im in!!!!
I really want to do the BBQ sauce from Boma LOVE IT!!!!
How do you divide the groups?
By resturant, lands, resorts?? or by Entree's, appitizers, sauces, and desserts?

Could I throw in one of my BF's exclusive receipes just as a bonus for all the ladies???:confused3

This could be HUGE!!!

Oh my yes! Bonus would be most welcomed!

Last ones were more like free for alls. There were set group numbers, 6 or 8 I think. You posted what group you wanted and the recipe you were doing.

There were some groups/swaps that were grouped by sweets & apps. & entrees. I'm not sure how it will be this time.

There have been so many Disney ones we might have to group by previous and newbie - not out of any disrespect, just that I (and amny of the other ladies here) have got a lot of the favourite recipes already (though I can't tell without looking if we have the Boma BBQ sauce....if not I bags go in that group!!:lmao: )

Just a thought....although I could always use any doubles as a gift for my DSis:thumbsup2

I was thinking of setting it up like we did before. I think I will also have some groups that will be specifically for recipes done in the previous Disney recipe swaps. I didn't get in on the first one, so I could sign up in that group, and do a recipe that had already been done in that swap. We wouldn't have any new recipes in that one. I did participate in the second swap, so if I signed up there, I would have to be happy with possibly receiving a recipe that I already had. These previous swap groups wouldn't be duplicate copies of those recipes though. We would all do our own designs.
