Disney Quest

I thought I'd read somewhere that not everything in DQ is included with the price of admission. Are there games that cost extra? Will we need to bring along a lot of extra money?

Gotta Get To Disney! :moped:

I would plan on a whole day. The first time we went, we were there for 7 hours. That was with two boys, ages 8 and 10. They even wanted to go back another day instead of going to a park.

As for bringing extra money, you really only need it for food. There used to be games that cost extra because they gave away tickets. You could then redeem the tickets for the cheapy little stuff like they have at Chuck E. Cheese. I'm not positive, but I think I read that they have done away with that. There's one area where you can make your own crazy toy from "Toy Story." You can look at it on the computer screen, and decide if you want to buy it or not. If so, they assemble it and sell it to you. I can't remember how much it costs, but maybe around $10. You can also make your own CD and buy that, I think. We've never done it so I'm not sure on this one.

DisneyQuest is a blast. You'll love it!

The only thing we didn't like was Alladin's Magic carpets all three of us felt a little sick and the VR helmet was a little heavy for DD (She was 7 on that trip).)

we also had my 7 yr old grandson with us , & the helmets were not something he liked,, maybe because it was hard to figure out what to do. I did not care for them , because I wore glasses & frankly they 'hurt'.

anyway grandson LOVED disney quest. he was too short to do the coaster & buzz light year..... but he really loved the race cars etc (especially the star wars ones)

what surprised me most was the family really liked the cars under the floor treasure search. only problem the 'caller' ( me :goodvibes ) can easily lose your voice yelling to your person, over all the other noises!

it was well worth it to go!

there IS an area where you can buy tokens, & play for tickets to turn in for prizes..... games such as whack-a-mole or where you roll the ball up into circles with holes in them,, things such as that.( I cannot remember how much,, maybe 20 games for $5.?? :confused3 )

there is way too much going on in the rest of the place, you don't need to do this, but it can be fun for the kids (or adults ) to do this.

there is PLENTY of food for sale there also.

hmm, it was almost 2 yrs since we were there. (wow how time flies!). so I hadn't heard that. .
I wonder what they put in that space??
(they do need an extra dance step machine though,, that seemed to have the longest line!)

they do cover your head. (yea,, eewww)
they wipe the forehead band off between each 'ride'.
(I am not sure how thorough they are on wiping the whole hat down. wasn't paying attention all that closely)
(but , really, there are MANY things we come in contact with in disney that have an "ewww' factor, but you really don't think on it)

How about a two year old(with no stroller) and a 7 yr old? We have 4 unused extra days on 3 hopper plus tickets from last yr.

When we were at Disney Quest in August, I asked if we could use our old plusses on our park hopper tickets to get in. The answer was no. You either have to have the pluses on a MYW ticket or buy a separate ticket for DQ alone. I hope someday they'll allow DQ with the plusses since I've got loads of them from previous trips. I still have hope since they originally didn't allow anyone to use old hopper tickets for Animal Kingdom and now they do.

Anyway, our family (me45, DH40, DS11, DS8) loves DQ and make it a point to spend 8-10 hours there (usually in two sessions) over the course of a week's visit to WDW. I think there would be a revolt if we didn't visit when we were in Florida. They prefer it over the waterparks which still shocks me.
