Does everyone get charged upon entrance. I don't play any video games. Is there a non-player charge that is reduced in price or something like that?

Is there anything else to do there, other than video games?

I am pretty sure that you will have to pay full price to enter even if you don't want to play any games (just like you have to pay full price to enter a theme park even if you don't want to ride anything).

Everyone is charged. It's four (?) huge floors of all sorts of games. There's no way to monitor those who say they won't play.

I went shopping at DTD while everyone else did Disney Quest after we did a couple of the things that I thought might be cooler in Disney Quest - turns out I didn't enjoy those either. One was a boat rowing thing.

The 2nd time the family went to Disney Quest I just stuck with DTD shopping.

FWIW, I bring something to read. (DS loves DQ. I don't like playing video games or anything else there. DS is not old enough to leave there alone while I shop DTD, so I bring something to read and sit at the CS food area and buy a beverage or two.) He spends about 3 hours there and then is done for the day, so that's not bad - I get through half a book usually.

Yes, I pay full price to sit and read. (I figure its just a cost of having a child, which will end in a few more years when he's older and he can go in alone.)

1. as posted yes.

2. It depends on what you call video games. There are a few areas of true video game consoles like Pacman, but there are other large scale interactive games.

As the PPs have said, everyone is charged the same price to enter DQ. So if you don't play the games, it not really worth it to pay the entrance price. There are lots of different games; some are arcade-style, others are more interactive. There is also a food court. Overall, unless you have to go in to keep an eye on your family, I would probably opt to go shopping in DTD while they play at DQ.

I hang in the restaurant area and read and hold things;) I will also play a couple of games with my kids because they ask. It is noisy though anywhere but the restaurant.

It's mostly video games but there's a couple "rides" that me, the non-gamer, participated in that were ok. I'm not a fan of the place.

If you have a package booked with Disney, then you'll receive free one-time admission vouchers to DQ for each person on the package. We used these, so we did not have to pay admission. If you do not have a package booked, then we've found that sometimes in the evening they have half price admission. I'd suspect this would be after dinner time, with only a few hours left, and they likely don't discount admission if it's rainy or cold because that's when DQ tends to be busiest.

You get two vouchers per package room, regardless of how many people are on the reservation.

Thanks for clarifying. We only ever have two people on our reservation, so I didn't know :thumbsup2

Do you remember when/how the vouchers arrived? We haven't gotten any vouchers for our upcoming package, which begins Jan 2. Or was that perhaps a limited promotion?

We got our package with the vouchers like 35 days out. It's in the envelope with the luggage tags. You only get them if you book a package though. Not with room only reservations

If you booked your package directly with Disney (room and tickets together, and dining plan if applicable) then you should receive your documents any day now. Usually anywhere from 25-35 days prior to your arrival. They may be slightly delayed now due to the busy Christmas season - both at WDW and with the postal service. Your documents aren't just the vouchers, but also your commemorative luggage tags (not the DME ones) along with confirmation of your package.

The vouchers aren't a limited promotion. In addition to the DQ vouchers, you also get the ones for mini golf, Planet Hollywood, Splitsville, water rentals, etc. They are pretty standard year after year.

If you booked a package through an agent, you may not be subject to the same kind of voucher inclusions. If you booked room only and paid for tickets separately, you also would not receive the vouchers.

I hate DQ. DH and DS8 love it. Its probably their favorite thing in all of WDW. We have had the DVC PAP's the last few years so it isn't an issue for me to go in and just sit and read if I want. But usually we eat dinner together in DTD and then I walk through the shops then head back to the resort while they go to DQ. If I do go in, there is a trivia game I'll play but that is about it. I hate the noise/crowds in there so it is definitely not my favorite place.

How much time you spend at Disney Quest. Trying to plan out the rest of the day.

Thanks.
