Disney Princess Lingerie

It's probably because I'm a guy, but I totally understand what FireDancer was saying and I got the movie reference even though I never saw the movie.

There are certain pieces of clothes not made for certain body types. That's just the way things are. Let's go with a man as an example: Ever see Borat's swimsuit? Picture that on a 400 lb man. It just doesn't look good.

It doesn't look good on Borat either. :rotfl:

Haha, true.

I was thinking more of tight fitting Under Armor or, as one of my female friends calls it, "our version of yoga pants". I suspect most of the women here would agree it looks really good on someone like Ryan Gosling and not so good on John Goodman and I would have no issue with any of them stating that opinion.

To answer the original question, definitely not hot.

Fat women shouldn't wear pretty underwear. Check.

Here's another example:

How many times does the Community Board have a thread about awards shows? Is there a red carpet thread? Do people talk about what the stars are wearing? Does anyone ever say that someone doesn't look good in something?

Why?

  • The dress's color doesn't go well with the person's complexion.
  • The dress is made for something with/without ample cleavage and said celebrity has the opposite.
  • The dress is too long and the actress is too short.
  • The dress is too short and the actress is too tall.
  • Etc.

Heck, E! makes a living out if that.

Now, the "spandex is a privilege" line from Hackers is obviously a weight joke, but there are other reasons why some thing just looks good on one person and bad on someone else.

I never said I was personally offended by his posts (because I'm not). But I think they're part of a larger societal pattern that's damaging, so I'm going to call that out. I don't think there's anything "silly" about that. I'm unclear why you think it's okay for one poster to repeatedly post his own opinions but expect posters who disagree with them to say nothing.

I don't. Just like you posted something in response, so did I. You disagreed with him. I disagreed with you. We both posted... Seems reasonable.

I maintain that it's silly to feel pressured into a societal expectation by an anonymous poster on an internet message board. My opinion.
