Hi Everyone-
We are thinking of buying into DVC and would likely split time between WDW and HH. Are the prices and incentives I see here for BCV the same as HH? If not, anyone have info on HH prices? HH tends to be a few dollars less on the resale market than the WDW resorts, but not sure if its the same through Disney. Thanks for your help!

We bought at HH in Feb(actually put deposit down 2/2, but didn't officially close til 3/4). using the Magical Beginnings program, where Disney bought back the our first year's points for $13 a point, making it $62 per point. I know they no longer have the $13 incentive, however, for a while, they had a $10 off incentive. I would strongly encourage you to look at a resale. I bought from Disney because it seemed easier, and I thought it would be faster. It also was roughly the same cost as the new purchase. In hind sight, it would ahve been just as quick for me to a resale (we didn't do financing so that wasn't an issue), and I could probably have gotten points to use this year. I didn't want to start out my DVC by borrowing points, so I am waiting til Sept. for my points. Maybe someone has more updated info on incentives for you.

The price per point when purchasing from DVD is the same regardless of which resort. However, purchase incentives do vary from resort to resort - not sure what current incentives are though.

Since the sales are so slow at HH and VB, Disney usually always has a better incentive at those resorts. Resales are lower for a couple reasons. The price does reflect the cheaper buy in price and many people were fooled into buying at these resorts and have come to realize that HOME RESORT DOES MATTER.

If you intend to use DVC mainly for WDW vacations, you should buy on site.

You'll want to think about this decision a little bit. If you'd like to stay at HH during the summer, you'll find it pretty tough to get in without the 11 month advantage. Most HH owners prefer to go to thier home resort in teh summer months. The 11 month window is also an advantage at a WDW resort. Depending on how many points your interested in, you might consider splitting your points between both resorts with the idea of going every other year to each resort. You can bank your HH points one year and have double the points for the next year available at HH and during the year you go to HH bank you BCV points so that two years worth of BCV points are available the next year. Alternating years and banking the respective points would give you the 11 month advantage at your choice resort.

We are actually Vero Beach owners, and really appreaciate an off site location in addition to our onsite WDW ownership.

Best wishes in your decision.
