Disney: Please change your coffee!

Hitch up the wagon train!! We gotta drive Nes-crap-ay outta town!!! We want coffeee! We want coffeee!! Man, switch sponsors to Starbies for crying out loud - or even Dunkin's!! Real coffee for real pipples!!!

Disney ought to be embarased to even serve this stuff. I made the mistake last year...I wont make it again. I am bringing my own pot. DW needs to make a switch. Nescafe may have been ok years ago, but in case no one has noticed many people (including myself) have become "coffee snobs" and now demand a better cup of coffee, and we go to the happiest place on earth and are served this sludge what do they make that out of? Old tires?

For those of you who bring your own coffee...do you take filters as well? We stay at the Poly, so if I really need a fix I can always get some from Kona. :woohoo:

All the rooms I've stayed in the Poly (including Jan 08) have included a small 4 cup pot and some filter packs of decaf and regular coffee, both of which are decent, if not spectacular.

If you plan to take your own, you'll need filters as none were provided.

Who makes "mickey's 'really swell' coffee"? (It says "Theme Perks: The 'E' Ticket of Coffee" on the can, but I don't think Theme Perks is a brand.) Thats not bad stuff. In fact, they have a whole line of coffee products to go with it. They could build a whole bunch of little coffee houses around WDW around that theme. When I was there in the fall, I found it odd that in the coffee house era, Disney ignores it at their resort.

1) Nescafe is an official sponsor.
2) Nescafe supplies coffee to WDW for free.
3) Some eateries have special coffees (eg. Kona Coffee at Poly)
4) But, until someone else gives free coffee, don't look for a wholesale change.

They also have a horrible catch 22 in that anyone they partner with is going to have fans - and detractors. Food service coffee from Nestle is food service coffee. But you'll find that not everyone is a fan of Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks either.

The best coffee I've had and still drink in the A&P's 8 O'Clock brand in the red bag. I set the machine on Perk for freshly ground beans and the aroma is to die for!!!

Bad, bad coffee!!! Where is the Starbucks? I want my Starbucks! I need my Starbucks! Do I sound like a spoiled brat or what? Really though, I will not drink the coffee at Disney and I do bring my own Starbucks for my resort room.

True to a point... whenever I brought up the coffee at TS or coffee bars while I was there... each CM said that was the #1 complaint they heard...how horrid the coffee was:confused3

For it to be the #1 complaint food/drink wise I would say that was some pretty awful coffee :rotfl:

They do have some good private owned coffee stands in the parks but none in the resorts.... I mean I am at the GF conceirge level and all I can get is crappy coffee :lmao:

You would think they would offer a little coffee stand at the delxue resorts at the least... the very least.. a nice posh comfy coffee house would be grand rather than the 15 million souvie stores that all carry the same thing :rotfl:

Well there are more and more places offering Lattes and other weird stuff sold in the little itty bitty cups... why would you waste your money on that??

In any case you should try the coffee at the Hess stations and they're right there. I don't know how it taste as I don't drink the stuff but I do know they have real milk because when I get my hot chocolate I mix it with milk to make it taste better. And they have all that other fancy creamer stuff too.

worth a shot right??

That was the amazing part. At the flagship GF Concierge level they have
a selection of wine, cheese, dips, cookies, crudités, and the sludge. At first I was excited since they had what appeared to be an espresso machine with all
kinds of buttons, but once I tasted my "brewed to order" selection I couldn't believe that it was the same Nescafé. If I recall, you could choose 'coffee', or 'cappucino' or 'latte'. But even the cappucino was dreadful.

NO KIDDING!!! I am not a big drinker... maybe 1/2 glass a wine a year... hold off on the booze Disney and give this mommy some good coffee :rolleyes1

When Gallo starts paying Disney to serve you crappy wine, then you'll have bad wine in conceirge as well. Might not want to give them any ideas, though.

I forgot about that, Hess coffee rules. People look down on it because it's a gas station, but most of those places have a whole "buffet" of great coffee at reasonable prices and bad cups are almost nonexistant. I can't say that about Starbucks and DD.

Although, I still think Mickey's Really Swell Coffee House would be much cooler.

I think most of us have known about the Nescafe sponsorships and dirt cheap giveaway of this stuff to Disney for a long while but I'm sure they have to get tons of complaints from guests - the sad part of the story is they could care less...same logic applies to their pathetic beer selection which will never change as long as AB is throwing dollars at Disney to push their swill.

. . . I am at the GF conceirge level and all I can get is crappy coffee . . .

1) Everyone's taste is different.
2) Nescafe is the largest seller in many countries around the world.
3) It can't be hated by all.
4) Thus, it is fine for WDW service, including Club Floor.
5) After all, which coffee was being expected?

NOTE: Many like Columbian coffee. This used to be the WDW Coffee, but they had many complaints. You would get complaints if it were any brand (eg. Chock-Full-O-Nuts, Starbucks, Maxwell House, etc)

1. true everyone's taste is different but I see 99% more complaints about the coffee than compliments
I was at the GF the first of this month and talked to some CM's about the coffee. Do you know what they have? They have a little coffee pool in their break room ... even they won't drink the Disney coffee :rotfl: they take turns bringing in coffee from home :confused3

2. Nescafe is one of the largest sellers in many other countries around the world but lets be serious with this.... there is GOOD nescafe coffee, I know I have had some. The stuff they are selling is the bottom of the line cheapest stuff they carry. It is the service coffee that was NOT seen by inspector 12 :rotfl:

3. It might not be hated by ALL people but I have yet to meet someone who thinks the Nescafe service coffee tastes wonderful :rotfl: When I was in line for the good coffee stands at Epcot I was surrounded by people drooling and collecting like little ants at these precious FEW good coffee stands in Epcot. The ice breaker for each line? This isn't nescafe coffee is it? :rotfl2:

4. I respectfully disagree about it being fine for all WDW service. I am not saying I want the GOOD coffee for FREE. I am more than willing to pay for it. I think it should be available at the deluxe resorts. At the same time, concierge guest are able to drink themselves silly with fine wines and booze... GOOD booze along with champagne... if this is acceptable why not offer decent coffee?:confused3

5. I am not a super picky person... I mean in a perfect world New Orleans style community coffee would be my choice:woohoo: BUT.... I am not super picky :rotfl: I can drink most coffee without complaint. Folgers would be a decent enough brand... heck Nescafe wouldn't be bad if they served the better quality nescafe. The stuff they serve at the resorts I just can't seem to swallow. Luckily this last trip I brought my own coffee and filters and that worked out well enough. It is just kind of sad that I am paying $600 a night for a room and can't find a decent cup a coffee in the morning unless I get up early and make it myself :lmao:

I bought an inexpensive steam latte machine, and we're taking it, along with our Starbucks beans (which I'll grind ahead of time), on this next trip.

I was appalled at the coffee situation (or lack of) at WDW!

Okay, I do realize that I am a coffee snob. I buy Dunkin Donuts to brew at home (& nothing else), but I've also hard decent cups at the gas station. You would think that the Nescafe people would supply some decent coffee in hopes of selling more of it in the stores.

We're going in May & although we'll be buying the refillable mugs, we will also be bringing our own coffee maker. I'm not even going to worry about bringing my own DD coffee, since the Maxwell House filter packs are easy & a big improvement over Nescacrap (I like that new word that perfectly describes the coffee at WDW).:lmao:

Life is too short to drink bad coffee;)
